Im putting together a 1970 CT90. Came factory wired for rear turn signals although not factory installed. They were an option but the wiring was there from the factory. I got a 78 parts bike to use for some of the missing parts and the signals.
Found the OEM wires and wired up rear signals and they worked and the buzzer sounds off. So i took the 78 bars with the factory front signals and hooked them up. All 4 blink but could be brighter in my opinion. Granted i didnt unplug the fronts to see of the brightness changed with only 2 bulbs flashing instead of 4. Ill try that scenario tomorrow.
The bulbs that were in the signals are Stanley 1129. Writing on bulb says 6V17W6V21CP.
So im not at all electrically inclined and im wondering if 2 bulbs on a side each drawing 18 watts ( which im assuming equals a 36 watt total draw ) is too much for the flasher relay or the total wattage produced by the bikes electrical system. Do you think i should go with a lower wattage bulb and see if i get a brighter flasher?? 21 candle power translates to around 625 lumens if i remember what i researched.
