A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Wasn't sure which thread to post in, so going with general. My '78 750 engine bit the dust, and I'm looking at putting in a '79 1000 engine in the frame. I've seen this engine swap around the internet, but can't for the life of me find what possible frame modifications I would have to do to set it correctly. I've seen a little bit that at least the bottom part of the frame will have to be adjusted to get the sump to fit right, as well as the brackets, potentially. What other modifications would I have to do? Thanks.

I have been on this site just shy of 10 years. I have seen many posts on the 7/11 upgrade, but can't recall a single one on 7/10. Also, I seem to recall that they were always Kat-to-Kat (Katana).

I too have seen lots of stuff on putting a 16valve 1100 engine in a frame that previously held a 16valve 750. But I don’t recall any 8valve 1000 engines going into an early 8valve 750 frame.

I appreciate the input! That's kinda interesting, I'm fairly new to engine swapping and I happened to stumble upon some threads about the 7/10, one guy on here and a couple threads on OldSchoolSuzuki.

2V GS1000's, 4V GS750's, 4V GS1000's and 4V GS1100's all bolt right in to each other. I'd think the 2 V GS750 would be the same, but never remember anybody mentioning trying it.

I suspect the 2V 750 is longer in the cases. It's the only one with a kickstart Never personally measured it.
