A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Forum Newbie
so i just got done with my 80 gs 750 build now im on to the 77 gs 750 its going on a hard tail frame and im tryin to make it wiked fast lol so ive heards about this jug swap but not in detail thoghts and opinions appriciated

Sorry to be "that guy," but if you search out info here, you will find more than you care to read about regarding this swap in older threads.

The jugs will fit however the machining (lack of) on the bottom of the jugs might interfer with the 750 cases. So some relief might be needed here. This has been noted multiple times with other builds. Some fit fine, some don't.
Some say swap in the 850 cylinder head as well but keep the 750 cams.

The early model GS750's use the 3 bolt timing chain tensioner - nothing after-market available. worthless ugh.
Some GS850's use the 2 bolt like the GS1000 - plenty of after-market support here.

exhaust and carbs swap from gs750-gs1000 - 8V engines.

I have a '77 GS750B - bored to an 844 - 4mm over - runs great, sounds awesome - not finished.
I have a '77 GS750B - GS1000 engine installed - was running/riding but switched it up and now it's in pieces waiting for me to finish the above...

After hours on the web and everything I decided to go a different route Im putting the 750 on the stand for something cool next year and putting a Yamaha R6 600 in I already have the rear sub frame installed looks kinda rad lol now I have to fix a lazy mistake of mine and weld this hole shut in my gas tank wish me luck thanks for the responses and pointers
