A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I have often thought it would look good on all the engine covers and the sprocket covers. Forks too if your not into polishing them

I prefer Shinko 712's but these are the right price. I'll let the guy who buys it from me change them out.

+1 to what Steve said. I need new rubber on my GS but even I don't want these if you're trying to get rid of them.

I won't even let them roll across my shop floor, let alone sit on the bike to guide it.

I don't ride hard at all, but I have gotten them to slide on nice, dry, warm pavement.
I hate to think of what they might be like under less than perfect conditions. :-\\\

Shinko 712s are good, so are the 230s, which are currently on all of our bikes at home right now.
The only 'problem' with the Shinkos is that they don't last very long. For those who only ride a couple thousand miles a year, that is several years of riding. For those of us who ride a bit more, that's maybe a season out of a tire, but I plan on doing higher-than-average miles next year, so will be riding on something else.

.

Thank you steve. I put Shinko 712 on a KZ550 two years and 4k miles ago. I ended up buying the same bike back this past spring. The 712's I put on when I sold it were still there and looked barely worn. I like them for the tread pattern and the overall performance. They have never felt skittish or unsafe no matter the riding conditions.

My 08 Dyna is going to need tires before spring and I'm considering Shinko for it. I think the 230 come in the sizes I need. I put a brand new Dunlop HD branded tire on the rear about 5k miles ago and it's all but worn out. I don't ride that bike aggressively at all. Since I typically only ride that bike about 1k miles over the winter I'm sure it will need new tires in March.
