I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

My 78 1000 carbs are overflowing past the bowl gasket on #3 carb(or is it 2?),the rest are fine.Float and level are good so I guessing the needle and seat are DOA.Anything else that would cause it?
Edit:An OEM one's $32 USD.That's crazy!Z1 has one for 5 but shipping is more than the price:(

Standing or running? If standing then your Petcock is leaking & the needle/ seat might actually be ok just overwhelmed. I had a similar thing on the 78 at one point.

Don't have the tank hooked up yet, leaking if it's running to but it's all on the auxiliary fuel source.

Great,Z1 only has only 1 seat and needle in stock and I figure I might as well get 4.Thinking if I only do 1 the next weakest will start leaking.Parts N' More has them to in the KZ900 listing, more $$ but they got them in stock:ambivalence:

Tap on the bowl to see if you can get the needle to seat in the seat. :)

Be sure its lot leaking at a fuel joint and just running down the bowl and you think its the gasket.

New aluminum T and crossovers Chuck, they lessened the leaking but it's still leaking out of the gasket on 3 and the overflow on 4.Just doing the needles and seats on all 4.

How high up is your aux fuel source? Unless it's shallow & right on the seat you could be applying more pressure than you think. I am pushing you down this route because it is the one closest to the fuel hose....

You could try dressing the end of the needle with fine wet n dry. Also check that the spring in the end of it is not shot.

The wife has decreed I'm getting new ones so I am.Seems like a wise investment for peace of mind to.Don't have a long line on the aux fuel source but I guess it could do what you're thinking Salty but I'm just not sure about these and we just ordered new ones from the local dealer.Thinking about it now I will try that dressing idea and see if that works.

OK all new needles and seats and a few days of poor running because some dumb ass didn't check exactly how the coil wire are set up:rolleyes:Fixed the coil problem and out of the blue #4 is p*%%*&g out gas.Yes I hit it to reseat the needle, still the gas pours out till I turn off the petcock:-&

Float Dragging on the gasket is all I can think of. If they are canted even a little theres a chance they can snag up. I always eyeball them to be as straight up and down as possible, before i set the float hys.

As quick as it started it stopped so maybe something got caught between the seat and the needle?:topsy_turvy:Idling WAY to high(1800 RPM)so it looks like I need to adjust the side heights.
