A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

This being my first Suzuki, I thought I'd ask the experts. I want slotted or drilled discs. Thought I'd check into something from a different model or later year that would bolt-on. Willing to buy calipers also and need to buy lines and pads anyway, so I thought I'd check into this before I spent that money. Guess I should also be thinking about the master cylinders if I change the calipers. Nothing like a good ebay or swap meet search. Also, what is a good source for OEM part numbers?

Alpha Sports for best parts fishe (but worst prices).

Salty Monk's (Dan's) brake upgrade. Please search to find his various threads.

I usually go to http://www.bikebandit.com/suzuki-motorcycle-parts/oem-parts/s/m12s2 to find the correct fiche, they have the best interface and I can locate the fiche fairly quickly. They have a decent search engine also, but you need to know the name of the part, which can be a bit problematic. For example, a petcock is called a fuel - cock. Unfortunately, they are priced a bit high and don't carry the OEM numbers. Once I locate the correct fiche, I go to http://www.babbittsonline.com/suzuki-motorcycle-parts for correct OEM part numbers. It also allows me to compare costs, which includes shipping.

Dan's Kawasaki twinpot upgrade is worth every cent you spend.

Slotted rotors really don't do much on the street in terms of additional power.

Going to slotted disc's you'll need to upgrade to the later callipers on the front than the stock ones. Rear is the same calliper. Master cylinder is a twin disc so you should be OK.

Sounds like the twinpot caliper mod with Honda CBR rotors would suit you... The additional power is nice, cost will not be that much more than what you were planning. You can use the stock MC or swap to the Kawi one if preferred.

Pm me if you want a bracket kit. There is a lot of info on the swap on here in various threads.

Dan :)
