If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

Well i got my forks pulled apart and the old seals out, and tried putting the new seals in and they seem way to big. I got them from a local shop and their dimensions are 37x50x11, which sounded right, but looking online i can't find anything for the L forks. Looking in the service manual it doesn't say what the dimensions are, just how to replace them. Does anyone know the dimensions? Its a possibility that i just have to use more force on them, but this is my first time so i'm not sure. Anyways, thanks!

Nope, they're an aftermarket brand. I was just trying to avoid ordering online.

I can't recall offhand, but there's a good chance that bike has 35mm forks.

Im pretty sure they're 37mm. I bought clip ons for the bike and ended having to bore them out to 37.

I had this same issue last spring when i rebuilt my forks on my 79 GS750L. They do indeed have 37mm forks (as opposed to the 35mm that all the other L's have). I ordered my seals (part # 51153-45200) from http://partsfish.com/oemparts/a/suz/50d40021f8700230d8b4e20e/front-fork
and they fit. They are a very tight fit, so be sure to put some shock oil on the outside edge of the seal when you install them into the fork.
Good Luck!

Just thought id post what happend. I ended up having the wrong seals. We tried and tried and they just would not go in. Measured the old seals and they were 37x48x1 and so I went to the bike shop and they found some with the same dimensions and I was able to pound those into the bike.

On another note on my vin tag it says 79 gs750 E but I definatly dont have E forks.

Anyone have a definitive volume of fork oil for these forks?
