A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Gs1100 jetting

Went with the 122.5 mains,47.5 pilots, airbox lid off, changed the bad slide, the bike pulls hard to redline from 1st thru 3rd,soon as I hit 4th and 5th it bogs.Still have some backfiring but not as bad as at first, still hear a few pops at idle too.

gs1100e jetting issue

Been awhile since I've been on.
I got the carbs ultrasonic cleaned, new o-rings everywhere, float heights adj. It really helped alot! running 122.5 mains 47.5 pilots, mixture screw out 2.5 turns, airbox lid off, kerker 4/1,with competion baffle.
Bike runs pretty good, has good idle, acclerates well, when running 60-70 mph it wants to float alittle, and at initial startup it does alot of popping, this seems to decrease once the engine warms alittle but it still seems excessive.
I know these old bikes will pop some with the 4/1 on them, but it still seems excessive.

Try backing out the idle mixture screws a little more. Also make sure the header gasket copper o-rings are good. They will laways pop a little with the comp baffle in the pipe

Exhaust gaskets are new, replaced them when i put the pipe on.As for alittle more on mixture screws, are talking maybe a half turn,or more than that?
I pulled the plugs earlier today, found that #4 had a cracked insulator,1&3 are nice cocoa brown,#2 was black with carbon,#4 looked about like 1&3.But these plugs were also in before the ultrasonic too.Just picked up new plugs and gona start fresh to see what gives.

Try the new plugs first. See where you are at with a plug chop. Then adjust the screws. If popping try a 1/4 turn out. Some times that's all it takes.

Just have to experiment untill you get it right. Every set of carbs is different. If its more then 4 turns out go up 1 on the pilot jet size
