DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

Opinions requested please!
Well, I feel this should have come to me already but I cannot figure out the details.I figure I'm getting daffy in my old age. Maybe my brain is full.
I have a 1984 GS1150 chassis that I have put a 1982 GS1100 engine in. Naturally, wiring is different. The 1100 engine came from my old Katana which was running and all electrical was good. Should I use the Kat's wiring harness on the 1150 chassis or is there a way to use the 1150's harness with the 1100 engine? I'd like to keep the 1150 harness as the clocks and ignition switch plug in nice.
It's getting warmer here in Colorado and I've been dragging my heels on this project for a year and a half. I really need to get this old scooter back on the road again.
Any detailed assist would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you

I would use the 1150 harness, the only things that may be different are the ignition wires , and you could probably use the 1150 ignition, pickups I would guess. the stator will wire the same, and I don't know if the 1150 has a gear position or just a neutral light but those switches could be swapped over also I would guess.

Of course it will work.
Be prepared for some (a lot of) modifications.
