    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

well.....i bought the bike at a steal, runs, 4-1 Vance and Hines Header, Individual KN Filters, new tires/brakes....all for 500 bucks


now the issue....the swingarm wobbles around the bolt, so i took the swingarm off and had a look, the bearings and sleeves look good in the swingarm, and the bushing in the frame looks decent, the bolt though is really sloppy when it goes in and is causing my wobble, is it missing a bushing in the swingarm or is possilbe the bolt is the wrong size ?
 
Not sure about your particular model, but most have a bushing between the bearing & the bolt. Check the pictures of your model at bikebandit.com or alpha sports.com
 
In your swingarm you should have 4 needle bearings, 2 on each side of the swingarm and 2 bushings that the bolt slides through. You should have 4 caps and 4 flat washers, 1 of each on each side of the swingarm where the bushings slide through.

I just had my swingarm off a few days ago and if everything is right the bolt should be a little tough to get through from one side to the other.

There also should not be a bushing in the frame. Someone may have attempted a swingarm swap and screwed things up.
 
hrmmm....there is a sleeve for the needle bearings where the bolt goes through, but its such a sloppy fit....i picked up an exploded view of the parts and am gonna take a much closer look today

i'll update...and hopefully with pictures to help :)

Sounds like either the bushing that slides through the bearings in the swingarm or the bearings themselves are worn out, maybe both. They tend to pick up alot of cantamination over the years and if it's never been serviced yours could be worn beyond service limits.
 
well, we looked at it last night and measured everything up....all the bushings are the same size, both sides and it seems the bolt is an eighth of an inch in diameter smaller then the bushing sizes...i'm guessing someone just jammed a bolt in for some reason, i can't even speculate why,


anyone wanna break out a vernier gauge and check the size of their swingarm bolt...just the thread side, not taking the bolt out :-D
 
I'm not home right now so I can't take any measurements. How tight does the bolt fit in the frame? It shoud fit fairly snug, if not go to Bike Bandit and order the right pivot shaft and nut. Early in my bike's life I discovered mine had broken and had to replace mine. The PO of our bike may have had the same experience and used the wrong bolt just to get it back together to sell.
