A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Are there any lube places on the swingarm etc for this bike ? thanks

Sorta. It has a pair of bearings, but you have to take it apart to lube them or replace them. No zerk fittings, though.

Yeah you would need ot remove the swingarm.
It is a bit of an intensive process but worth the effort.

Lots of pivots in the cushion lever and other bits that need lube and may need seal replacement. I got around seal replacement by repainting so the groove cut by the seal was filled.

The bearings are a bit pricy. There is alos a machined tube that each bearing "rides" on. A lot of water and marginal seals allowed water to enter and bugger up one side. I replaced both bearings and cheated on the machined sleeves by cleaning them very well and flipping them over. The bearing only rides on half the tub. No idea whay but it saved a pretty good chunk of change.

edit.

Good god insane. Check out the fiche at alph-sports to see all the stuff that needs to be addressed.
Some folks swear by a quick and dirty spritz of penetrating oil or what have you.
But you cannot flush out the dirt that is packed in the bearing that way. In fact you only make things worse.

There are a couple of heim joints as well. The one on the bottom of the shock was hammered out and not rattling but binding, something to look for that would definitely affect hangling.

The bearings almost always can be replaced by generics; Suzuki did not do anything magic with them. Other members on here know how to find the generic equivalents. Much, much cheaper and the same quality.

Thanks for the replies. My brother is the manager of a supply house that carries all sorts of bearings and can usually help me out price wise.
