A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Has anyone got any pictures showing how they mounted a set of Accel coils (preferably to a GS1000E)?

It looks like you have to use the clamps and the adapter bracket and then rotate the connectors to the outside, doesn?t appear to be room to use the stock posts as the connectors would then point straight down.

just wanted to make sure I?ve got a rough idea before I mount them and try to re-fit the tank.

Finally getting around to fitting them, only had them on my shelf about 9years... :)

Also interestingly I thought I was down a couple of volts at the coils but it turned out to be only one coil and only when the Dyna S was connected on that same circuit (orange white). Very strange. I’ve now re-jigged so the Dyna Is on that circuit with the trigger for a relay and have the coils powered from the relay.
You can do it all very neatly down by the box, no need to run new wires up to the coils in my case. :)

It’s only been that way since I added the Dyna S about 10years ago.... :)

There super easy. mount in standard spot. From memory should have that alloy tube aswell

Is that a GS1000? Are the plug wires & the power connectors facing front in that picture or back?

I just noticed what the stupid auto correct named this thread... well maybe they will help it accelerate!! :D

Sorry pics arn't like the ones we use to have size wise

Powering coils at the ignitor plug with no need to run new coil wires.

Thanks Sharpy, pics are great. The wiring loom is what is in the way on mine. Looks like I need to work out how to shift it....

Not much room here due to the loom on either side.... I'll have to see if I can shift something. New wires turned up this morning.

They should go under all that stuff. if i recall its a free run to the plugs, no tunnels or stuf like that

Yes, for some reason the area looks a lot clearer on your ST than on my skunk.... Currently there isn't room there to mount the coil with the contacts facing down.

Got them fitted in the stock position. Amazing the difference they make but I suspect that is also down to the new plugs, full voltage & K&N Filters clean up I did at the same time...
