A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

anyone go for a ride today? Pics?

Man I tell ya....I just cleaned and lubed my side stand. I got tired of giving it a kick to put it out only to look down and its there in limbo...somewhere between in and out.
I had set her down a few just like you did......I would have dropped it eventually....so all lubed up now. :)

Thanks for the reminder....the cycle just got its yearly wash/degrease/deoiling....I guess I need to re lube the kickstand.

Hooptie,

What do you mean? Overheated?

It stalled out because I tried to idle the bike down and went too far. It was right at 1000rpm and coming to a quick stop on a down slope, the bike sputtered. And then decided that restarting was dumb for about 15 minutes.

I bump started it and motored back home.

Lordy, the heat is on, hardly saw a bike out this afternoon, then again it was 102 today. Felt like I was the lone ranger. Forecasted temps for the this week, Monday-102, Tuesday 107+, Wed-108, Thurs-105, Friday-103 then it cools down Sat to 99:p Nothing like spring time temps. Oh, it's 11:33pm as i write this and it is still 87 out.

Got back yesterday from a four day ride down to the Ozarks with a few GSR members...Joe Nardy and wife, GBW, Mark Wells, and Mrs Baatfam.

Checking in to our motel...

Mrs Baatfam and myself took off on our own to see some touristy sites...

Meramec Caverns

Elephant Rock State Park...On top of the granite dome

Continued...

Went over to Akers, to ride the ferry, but it was under repair...

So we road down to Round Springs...

26,000,000 gallons of water a day come out of this spring.

Our final dinner before leaving Sunday morning....(Mrs Nardy not pictured)

Good times with good friends....:D

Baatfam, I spent the last 16 years living in Cape Girardeau & Memphis, I know the area well. Love Elephant Rocks. South central & west MO and north central & west AR are some of the best times you will have on a motorcycle. Also check out Taum Sauk, Magazine Mountain, Mt. Nebo, Johnsons Shut Ins, Big Springs, The Current river is an awesome float rivers. Great to break up a weeks worth of riding with a relaxing 1/2 day float on the current. Check out Van Buren Mo, The Landing is a great lodge to make as your base for a float trip. If you like caves. Check out Blanchard Springs in AR. It is pristine because there is not natural entrance big enough for humans, it was discovered in the 1960s. The only cave in the US under the Forrest Service (a little weird)

Non-GS content, but a ride non the less :)

So the Triumph trumps the Beemer eh? They will absolutely LOVE that on the Triumph forums. :D

I still love the K1100RS. But after totaling two of them, my wife said we need to take a break.
The R1100S on the other hand never worked for me...never got comfortable on it. This Triumph is very nice. Handling, decent power, great brakes...and much lighter than the BMWs.

Thanks for this. We are going back later this year and it will be a great help.

7Jun2014--Solo Run then headed to El Paso

Bill,

I got your message...since my buddy rescheduled the 530 Conversion from Fri to Sun, I did all my chores early this morning and went for a Ride between Muscalero/Cloudcroft while my clothes were in the dryer.

Now I'm packing an overnight bag and heading to El Paso to watch the KINGS game2 tonite! Then come back early Sunday and hopefully complete the job on my bike.

Enjoy the pics...you're familiar with this road, I know.
