DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

anyone go for a ride today? Pics?

Apologies for the glare in the photo... got out with the Katana boys for the last chance of a ride before Christmas. Perfect weather for it and a top morning out as usual.

Ever eat beaver ?...(no, not the nice kind)....its pretty nasty....tastes like dead fish....(sometimes the nice kind does too....run away !!!)...but beaver meat is nasty....
But ya....spending many years in the Adirondacks of NY as a logger, Ive seen many trees downed by beavers.....thats HUGE....looks like a beech too....tasty wood, but it a really HARD wood....musta been some young beaver tryin to show off.....tree that size is of little use for a dam..... whos gonna drag it over ?.... ( I have a degree in professional Forestry btw)....thats how I know it was a beech....f.ag.us grandifolia, btw...

I had to put dots in the Latin name because apparently the autocensor removes the word f.a.g ....wow....what if I wanted to add a surfin tune by guitar virtuose D.i.c.k. Dale ?....just aint right....

But I see now where yer outta....Finger Lakes region.....makes sense....aint many that trap there any more, so the beaver (why aint beaver censored ?) been runnin rampant.....My son went to school in Alfred NY (the private university, not the state school)....I know western NY well....from Binhamton, to Corning, to Olean to the lakes....Syracuse, Lisle.....I been all over this country....I used to fly outta Elmira....

Merry riding on Christmas day!

Merry riding on Christmas day!

It's 38 degrees here, sunny and cold. Took my 1100G for a fast 1 hour ride up, down and around my favorite country roads. Many other bikers out too.
Yes I wore a leather racing jacket, winter gauntlets and full face helmet.

Took this just to see the static sag. New Hagon shocks in back, .95 Sonic Springs in front.

Sunny today, which by itself is better than most December days. And 40 degrees, much better than average.

Took ride along wooded dune (a different one that a couple weeks ago, other side of the river)

out for about hour and a half.
38 degress by time got home.
I really need to find the electrical wiring harness for the heated gloves.

Been a few years since I tried this.
Used small lights this time.
Just improvised what I could in a few minutes.

I was able to get the GS out for a ride today. It was about 50 degrees and overcast. It's not to often that I can go on a Christmas day ride. I rode about 100 miles, I was all geared up in my heated riding gear.

No, not too often you get to ride on Christmas day in NH, but today was one. Out for an hour ride after our meal with my son and daughter here at a stop. She then rode the way home on back of the more comfortable vStrom with me.

No riding here the last couple days, got any where from 6-10 inches of snow in places, streets and roads were wet, ice slush and black ice. And oh yeah, idiots around here who have no clue how to drive in these conditions. Over 56 accidents just yesterday.

We're lucky in that we can ride every Christmas Day, hence I have made a tradition out of it since moving here. :)

Do my eyes deceive me or are those Christmas ornaments hanging from the trees above that road? Love that TL.

Your eyes are telling you the truth! The residents decorate the trees along the road by their houses every year... so I try to take a picture there every year. :)

Had my 83 project out today for a short flight, it is really a nice bike to ride despite the hockey puck tires!

Do you guys ring/text each other before a ride? What jacket are you wearing? What jeans are you wearing? Which boots are you wearing? :D

Hey guys, after a whole bunch of life getting in the way, I decided to drop back into GSR, and I went for a ride too! Though this picture was taken from this past Sunday's ride. ;)

The irony is that even though Trevor and I live barely a mile away from each other, we hardly ever actually ride together. Maybe twice in calendar 2015? Blame it on our differing work schedules, or poor communication, or whatever... we really should try a bit harder! :encouragement:
