Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

anyone go for a ride today? Pics?

Thanks for the pics, Joe. Some great looking rides.
One of my all-time favourites, a Kat with spokes.
Not a bad job on that fatso KZ1300, looks like a 750 SRAD tailpiece.

Some nice bikes for sure. Saw a Duc, a GSX-S, and a MV Agusta in the more modern bikes. What is the average temperature there this month?

I'd be hard pressed to find an accumulation of vintage bikes like those around here. Thanks for posting those great pics.

I cringe to see helmets laying on the ground. My oldest step son laid his down for an hour or so and a black widow climed in. Bit him three times on the back of his neck. He's fine now but said it was excruciating pain and had a short stay in a hospital as a result.

Sorry for the downer, just came to mind seeing so many helmets laying around.

Cheers. There were so many bikes I only took a few pics just to give a general idea of the amount of classics around Melbourne area. As to the weather it was 23?C on the day but today will be 38?C. (100.40 ℉.) Too hot for me. :) Yeah I don't put my helmet on the ground but many do. Risk is very low as there's probably not many spiders around here.

Nice shots Joe! Some great looking bikes, would be cool to see that variety around here.
Did my first 2017 ride, ofcourse the SC wasn't having it as usual for me, been a month and a few weeks since I last rode.
Ran hard down my flat street, bumped to 2nd, with the choke half on with a Bic pen holding the slingshots partially open, lit right up after the month long cold spell.
A pleasant 60 mile loop with variable road conditions, about 40ish temp wise. Didn't stop no pics, same ratty Kat.

We went out on the 850 this afternoon, my wife and I, for the first time in quite a while. In about 20 minutes rain and snow mix started falling so it was a quick ride. She hadn't been on the bike since I put the backrest on and she liked it, yay! There's a storm moving in so probably wont get out tomorrow.

Hey, 40 degeesF in January on a Saturday morning, good enough for a breakfast ride and then a ride around town.
And had rained some yestgerday, so most salt washed off the roads (but not enough to get GK out, and roads a bit wet)

But aint a bike that want to to ride too far anyway.
Was gotten for bike for wife to learn on (low seat height, low end torque), but now is winter-beater.

Charmayne and I both got to ride today though only on her bike as I need to start putting mine back together. I rode her bike up to the high school today so she could get some practice in.

Power walking time first:

Then riding though in first gear only right now

She also learned what happens when you don't connect the ground wire of the R/R properly thus killing her battery. Fortunately, the wife was able to bring my battery from home and swap them out. I also showed her the correct way to connect the wiring to battery again.

Very happy to get a quick ride in today, 20 miles or so with a buddy and his 85 'wing. Particularly nice to have a functioning bike again.

Wow I like the way that sound!!!

The joy of learning to ride... At least she has a good mentor! A luxury I did not have...

Taking advantage of this gorgeous January thaw weather and racked 50 miles on the Tuxman! Glad the sun is staying out a little bit longer. Just one more month and I'll be back on the bike daily again!
So from the ride today:

Brimmed her off with some more ethanol free premium... She may be injected but I'm still not running through a tank a gas fast enough...

Despite the spring like surroundings... It was a gorgeous ride today... The mud was fun but damn it sucks coming home and trying not to get yelled at by the MRS. for tracking dirt!
