anyone go for a ride today? Pics?

Pass on the bike Redman but that looks like a fun road to ride!

H-Ds are what is more available for renting.

Some of those pics are Foothills Parkway, some are NorthCarolina 28, and some are US129 (section called "Tail of Dragon, 311 curves in 11 miles"). All are near Great Smokey Mountain National Park and near GSR SouthEast Rally.
Just about any other nearby road is pretty good also.

Opps, left off one of the pictures of NC28

I wouldn't buy a Harley but renting one would be fun. I've never ridden a bulky bike like that so it would be challenging to manuever it.

Thanks for responding to me PM RedMan!

Did a little "back road" riding after dinner tonight. I said this in the riding game, I love my new 1100 but the feeling I get riding my 750 can't be replaced. It's just different. :)

Thanks for the info Redman, I have heard of the dragon and it definitely looks like a fun road to ride!

Trevor, I wish I could keep my 450 as clean as you keep yours! Seems every time I wash it lately the next time I ride it rains...

Better to ride than clean it. A clean bike is an indicator of a dirty mind....or something like that!
btw Pete, I miss having fun on the GS450E I let go recently.

Haha yeah true... riding is definitely more fun! I like to keep her at least a little shiny though...

Not surprised you miss your 450, she certainly is a hoot!

Todays forecast:
Rain and Strep throat.
Im miserable and sick.
Have to take the car 40 miles to the Union Hall and do stupid union stuff.
Lame.

Been riding a lot the past 2 weeks though. Its a real joy to have a smooth running GS.

Lol..oh I ride them too. Put 20000kms just on my 750 last year.:D

You do indeed Trevor! I just wish I knew how you can ride *and* keep 'em clean at the same time!

Oh, it's raining here again today... haha

04-14 shake down run

04-14 shake down run

75 mile shake down run with no major issues. if I can get the clutch catch point where I want it i'm down to final painted bits and polish for the summer. I will play with new seat cover replacement to tie it into the tank as time allows.

Nice one Gary, she's lookin' good! Will be better when you get the seat/tank blended in together but I like it so far.

Beautiful evening here in Victoria BC
Vineyard with a cool house. This is a little twisty road I like to have fun on not far from my house.

That is definitely a cool house Trevor... and a cool bike :)

Had a good ride with the Katana boys today which was made all the better by my larger main jets and I also had a short run on one of the guy's Kats... I really need to get me one of them!

Lined up ready to start minus one guy on an SV650 who arrived just after the pic:

Brekky at the Pitstop Cafe on Mt Mee again, and have to share the awesome view yet again:

And all five bikes lined up, and the one I swapped with for a short jaunt is the one with the Ohlins forks and shocks in the foreground of the second pic:

Should have some video later this week too...

I got out for about 150 twisty miles on the 850 today and it was great! Loving the sound of the pipes too. I should have some pictures later to share. I spent the day chasing my local bike guru on his fresh Wes Cooley replica GS1100EZ. The perfect way to shake the cobwebs off the 850 and my riding skills.

Pete and Trevor those pics are great, thank you. Im jealous you can spend so much time near Kats Pete, I've never seen one in the metal before...

Nice. Where did you go? I had to go to a class today, and was hoping to ride, but it was rainy and chilly at 5:30 this morning.

Had been rainy for about 2 weeks, and cold.

Snow yesterday.

40 and sunny this afternoon.
Whaa hooo !
Got the GK out.
Nice to again have bike with my feet under me, and easy steering responce.

Stopped at a park along Grand River.

THose docks you see are not in the river, they have been pulled back into the parking lot for the winter.
The river is in the parking lot.
I marked on the photo where the river is suppose to be.

This is a different park along the Grand River.
Again, those docks are out of the river for the winter season,

Here is same place last November.
Docks in same place out of the river.
River in its normal place.

I went up to my usual stomping grounds at Bear Mountain & Harriman State Park. In this area the best riding by far is there. During the summers the trick is to get up there early enough before the slow bikes and tourists show up. :twistedevil:
