anyone go for a ride today? Pics?

Went for a 2 hour ride on Sunday. It was 37 degrees F when I left and under 40 when I got home but the sun was shining brightly. Didn't see another bike on the road. Of course, I usually take the road less traveled. I did wind up out at Rabbit Hash--the local Mecca for bikes, especially on Sundays. Not another bike in sight.

I must say that my riding gear kept me warm--Fieldsheer 3/4 jacket and pants. It did help that the sun was shining. I wore long johns under and a couple of layers, balaclava and warm gloves. I could have ridden for another two hours and been warm. Also, really like my new Shinko 712 tires. Seem to really grip the road.

Put about 120 miles on today...when I saw a sign that said Dragstrip so I stopped in and took a couple quick pics

All in all wasn't a bad ride!

tossed some high-grade New clutch plates in and right- go try 'em....sped on down to a dead end on the beach to eat an apple and have a smoke...We have a lot of these deadends around here-nobody much there-and it's nice. Not Spectacular - the Denman Island Backdrop is sort of featureless-but nice.

50 mile beating...

50 mile beating...

Temps were above freezing so no ice on roads and an excuse to take the Bandit out today. It's a really bad year for frost heaves and large cracks on the NH roads, so the knees, shoulders, neck and the bike could only take so much. Major roads, back roads, they were all crappy so I didn't ride as long as I'd like to. It was still nice to get out despite the abuse and ride up to Alton Bay where there is still plenty of ice but it's time to get the bob houses off Lake Winnipesaukee. Lots of sitting water on top of ice and the first pic is what's left of the bay's ice airstrip.

Last bob house out?

Went 65 miles today on my GS 450L. Drove along the East side of Lake Winnebago, WI. Checked out the windmills along the way. 38 degrees.

Yep,

MrBill and I went on a jaunt today...testing out my new V&H pipe, Progressive Shocks, and new Fork Oil too. Re-jetted the Mains from 112.5 to 117.5 and these babies sound NICE!

It was a blistery, windy day but a fun ride in Las Cruces today!

Bill has a beautiful 750E

Love my new Exhaust!

Yeah Ed got a good view of my bags being blown about. Gotta figure out a better way to secure here soon. Anyways, it was a good ride.

Changed oil in my engine and secondary drive today after work and went for about a 20 mile ride. No pics, but I'll get some soon! I've only lived here for 3 1/2 years and until I got my bike running I didn't do much exploring of the backroads. Wow, lots of scenic routes to take! I'm taking a vacation day tomorrow, I got lucky on the weather forecast. I got some goodies ordered from Partsoutlaw and I hope they get here tomorrow. I believe I need to order some clutch springs, got some slipping going on.

Awesome looking GK! Wish mine looked that good. I like the 2 tone paint scheme.

Finally had a nice day to get out so I sent my son to grandmas.
Went out for a really nice ride and hit an AA meeting this evening.
Nice day indeed.

Adam-

So, I got my California Cooley out for a ride after 3 weeks of ownership and a fair amount of maintenance updates after a 16 year slumber from the previous owner. I decided to ride to the auto parts store taking the long route through the country and stretch the bikes legs going to a small town about 30 minutes away. I was able to turn this into a 100 mile ride in the Indiana Spring sun.

Much to my amazement and completely by chance I came across a beautiful 1980 Cooley that I believed to be owned by Suzuki Dog. His GS was sitting at a business outside of town. Suzuki Dog & I became acquainted thru PM chatting on GSR recently and have never met. Imagine our surprise when we both found out that each of us had purchased (merely 1 month apart) this winter, new to us factory GS1000S Cooley Reps.

Suzuki Dog & I still have not met yet. Being a business I did not want to interrupt his work day by hunting him down so we will hook up hopefully soon and compare notes another day. Our bikes have met however, and this is their first photo op.

My 1979 out for a romp after a 16 year hibernation.

The 79 & 80 and there subtle differences.

Beautiful sighting! Kind of like seeing a couple of Big Foot's in the wild.

Sean, Your and Suzuki dogs cycles are gorgeous. To see them together is too cool!

Loud et, good to see you riding. Im itching to play the riding game...I have a couple of minor things to address on my cycle- new battery, check the charging system/ wiring, install my refurbished speedo drive, and its yearly wash. Soon...........

I went on a short scenic ride around Morton Arboretum today.

I would have puttered around some more, but it started to rain. I ended up parking under a gazebo until the rain stopped and then I figured I would seize the opportunity to get back home before it started up again.

A picture under the gazebo would have been cool, but there were people around and I didn't want to give the impression that I was parked there to be obnoxious and have them call the park ranger on me.

Where was I during this encounter....? Oh, yeah, working so I can pay for all my bikes... lol! Anyway, I'm glad our friends could meet. We'll get together and ride, soon. Thanks for the pic!

Did lunch at my favourite stop today before riding some of the twistiest roads in the area.

Sooke TT Loop

An infinite number of corners in 24 kilometers. Good times.

Missed you by a few hours Dave. That coffee shop is becoming a real destination. We'll have to take you for a run out Metchosin/Sooke way and show you some other roads.

Glenn, Rob and I got together for a ride (Sorry Dave didn't know you were off today) today. Rob's G had some issues so we went back to his place to trade it for his E. I love riding with guys who have more than one old bike.:p
We also hooked our Sena systems to one another, that inspired some pretty funny conversation while riding. Glenn almost got struck by lightning.:p
