DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Easiest bike I've ever sold, didn't even advertise it. The fella had an ad up looking for a 70's inline 4, showed up with cash. Nice guy too which is always nice.

Went out for a quick ride today, 14 Celsius and beautiful sun.

Really?? No comments on those awesome vans??

I had quite a few adventures in a Ford van like that. Most of which involved a skinny girl and rolling papers. No, No, no ........ a newspaper route with my sister :p

Lol...that sounds like good times Charlie!!:D I'm sure there are many former "Hippies" on here that can relate to that.

Now that I am working as a tech at the local Motorrad store, I'm riding something different every day.

Yesterday's test ride:

This morning's:

Not the most exciting examples of the breed (they are GS's though!) but at least I was riding... and getting paid to do it!

Now that I am working as a tech at the local Motorrad store, .....

Hey, maybe you could investigate and PM and tell me what is the real story about clutch hub / xmision input shaft spline wear/failures on 02-03-04 1150RT (and others with the new for 02 6 speed xmission).

Redman's southern California adventure Friday.

Redman's southern California adventure Friday.

Yesterday, Was upper 70s in San Diego, rode out of town on the 8, and it got even warmer.

Stopped at rest area after about 45 minutes.

Daughter & SIL, wife and I.

THen got to where it was good.
Rt 79 to Julian. We took that route as the way that looked fairly intersting on the map and like least likely to get lost. Lots of other interesting roads on the map I had. But we didn't want to add distance, and didn't want to miss turns and turn around.

Still had sweat running down back, when temps then dropped into mid 60s at the higher elevation.

Stopped in Julian for BBQ.
Walked around for a while.
Then had pie, and rechecking the map.
SAM_1737_w1000_zpscnllkot0.jpg

Look at all those squigglys. (am not pointing to any thing in particular). Some roads marked as 'treacherous', some as "tight", some as "sweepers" some as "scenic". The rt 79 we took, that is in most pics above, did not even rate any comment on this map.

THis was a bit too much of a ride for wife.
Then on way back, when got to the 15... we got to experience more of southern California.
4 and 5 lanes of traffic backed up for miles.

GOt to experience more of California by doing a bit of lane splitting.
Wife was too annoyed to cooperate and get some pictures of that (sorry, Greg).
Did some lane splitting for a while, until wife was really scared and screaming.
So told SIL to go on ahead and we stayed in lane. Then at least wife was only moaning and groaning then, not screaming.

Will Have a day to myself yet, and another one day for SIL & I to head out.
Need to run some of those other roads (Palomar top of list)... and need to get back before traffic too far backed up.

Dave

PS: Getting weather reports from friends back home about 10 degrees, 30mph winds, snow accumulation and drifting. That must be an entire different continent, or something.

Thanks for comment.

Answer: Wife/Passenger.
We have had some discussions about what would make a good "riding" photo. Those conversations typically do not proceed well.
