DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

anyone go for a ride today? Pics?

Dickies make great pants and shirts. I used to wear their stuff when I was a bouncer, and it held up extremely well to all manner of abrasion.

Cold but sunny...about 3 (36)....hard to resist getting out for a ride Xmas eve in Canada...I figure I owe it to my friends and family back in Ontario....lol

Nice!!! We're moderating to weather like yours, 'cept we got salt spread on all the the roads. Bad idea to have salt splattered all over aluminum parts.
Hope to go riding xmas day and this week!

Yeah Bill, they spread that liquid salt here...brutal! Merry Christmas to you and yours! :D

brine is a very effective product. They use it in BC? How odd are they afraid of people skidding off and hitting a palm tree?

Salt does nasty things to bikes rinse well.

....
Hope to go riding xmas day ....

Considering the possibility myself tomorrow.
Not that the conditions will be so good (low to mid 30s tomorrow, sloppy wet snow last night), but wife working tommorow, so I have the day to myself.

Oh, not the GK. The GK doesnt take any chance with the road salt.
THe Shadow 500.

Thanks guys, it certainly gets a lot of use now...very happy I bought it.

Might have to get a pair of those pants for when I have to wear slacks...normal slacks don't exactly inspire confidence!

Merry Christmas to everyone!

My sympathy for her…meh
A story my Dad told–Christmas eve the BOSS called in, message to everybody in office: “I'll be in at 5:00PM to wish everybody a merry Christmas” [S-O-a-B]

Yep, had day to myself.
What to do.
Played round of disc golf, went to Christmas day church, and then played another round of disc golf. (kinda easy when both at same place).

Then, got home, just a degree or two above freezing.... good enough.... got Shadow 500 out of back corner of garage, and got ready to go for ride.
Forgot one of the first rules of gearing up, get key our of pocket first.
THen about ready to go, Forgot another of the first rules of gearing up, get ear plugs out of pocket.
Then about ready to go, forgot another rule of gearing up, got to bathroom first.
Then about ready to go, and see that I havent put the licence plate tab on yet. THought I should do that even though have had several rides without it already.
Then about ready to go,

and think that maybe I should shovel away end of the drive way where the plow pushed back the shoulder into driveway . . . . naw, it will be okay, dont want another delay.

Made it out of the driveway okay.

Headed out of town, along the Grand River.

and down by the beach.

Had a good hour and a half ride. (would have been 20 minutes without the heated gloves).

Comming back in the driveway, make it okay, just was not going in direction I was intending... but made it.

Another example of "SOME PEOPLE ARE WEIRD"

Another example of "SOME PEOPLE ARE WEIRD"

Out for my Christmas Day Ride, saw some weird folks.

Saw these guys out ice fishing (the dark spots in the distance)

Man, that looks miserable, out there on the ice, out in the open....
Jeepers, they must have gone to a lot of effort to be able to stay out there that long.
Scheesch, dont those guys have any family to spend Christmas with.
Wonder whats wrong with these guys...?
Probably some deep rooted physiological problems.

.

Dave, it is a good thing you spotted those guys otherwise we never would have heard about anybody like that.
Deep rooted indeed. haha.

Christmas is a time to be with your loved ones, a time to let them know you appreciate and value them. So I took a loved one out for my annual Christmas Day ride.

:biggrin-new:

It got up to 53 degrees F today on the coast of Maine, so I took a ride down the St. George peninsula to the Marshall Point lighthouse in Port Clyde. I've been riding all through December, even though it's been colder than usual. I've lost the habit of waving to fellow bikers, simply because I never see them anymore since winter started. But today I passed a guy on a cruiser on my way home, and stuck out my hand just in time.
I might as well take this opportunity to thank everyone here who has given their time, information, and experience. I came to motorcycles about three years ago. It's been a steep learning curve. But this summer, I finished a successful top end rebuild and made a new wiring harness for my 1978 750, and I couldn't have done any of that without the help of everyone who contributes to this website. Thanks.

Come on.....it's warmer in Maine than Northern California? :)

Hit 60 degrees Fahrenheit for quite a few hours, here in lovely central New Jersey USA on this late December day. Perfect opportunity to enjoy an unexpected " take your bike to work" day. Was especially satisfying, as the bike was runnin like a top. Got down to the 30's by nightfall, and had to put er' back in the shed. If the weather keep providing these intermittent warm days, ( which my gut tells me is likely) I may not need to winterize/store the GS for the season at all.

The weather's been amazing here (mid-70's today). If I hadn't needed to rebuild the recently purchased RS36s I installed on the 1150, I might have been riding ...
