DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

anyone go for a ride today? Pics?

Nice day for a commute. Hoping I don't work another 14 hour day and I can enjoy this gorgeous day. 33'F on my ride in but the bike is running awesome.

Rode RT to my sons (Redmanson) house, the other day, to leave with him to ride to work and for a weekend trip to SE Ohio.

His Tiger1050 (2008?) had failure of starter clutch (they call Sprague clutch). I may not fully understand, but seems like the failed part can not be provided, have to purchase an entire new upgraded/redesigned assembly of the clutch and other associated parts, for lots of bucks, about half the value of the bike.
His response to that: Bought an entire newer Tiger 1050 and is going to be flying 2/3rd the way across country to get it later next week.

So I have been riding Shadow500. No pics - Yet.

Now my son reports the RT has a front fork slobbering a good amount - drat. Add that to all the expensive maintenance that thing requires . . . . . . .

Got out for an evening ride. 52degf When I left. Went Just out of town to the north, and to a beach that is out that way.

Then to the pier on that side of the channel.

Sun disappeared behind clouds on horizon.

48degF on ride home, which is usally okay for a short ride of 20 minutes, but bye the time I got home I was looking for ice. Maybe because of having with wet pant legs and socks and boots.

Good to get out for a while.

First ride of the season, 250 km. The switch to new quiet Emgo exhausts and 30 dB ear plugs have made my riding significantly more enjoyable.

The Bandit’s shakedown ride after checking the valves and a new chain involved a 250 mile round trip sprint to Charmayne’s place. Ran superbly but I didn’t have a lot of time to take pictures along the way though I found a few places I need to go back to.

Well, look who dropped by on his way back home from NC. After a day riding through hellacious rain, traffic, accidents, and gas fiascos, Jedz rolled into central PA last evening. The skies cleared, we went out for a great dinner, a short night ride. I almost got hit by a bat. Back home for beers and a BS session. And that quick he was gone again early this morning. The wife and I are happy to have you stay with us anytime. Nice to finally meet you, Justin.

It was a total of 2200 miles this past weekend. Good little Jaunt. Rich, thank you again so much for your hospitality. Let's do this again REAL soon. The route you sent me on for the ride home was EPIC to say the least...

It was a great little getaway, first time to overnight out of state after COVID.
Looking forward to June's Brown county gathering, still planning to see you folks!

Best,

Any time. Yesterday, I found a new gnarly, twisty, mountain road on the way to what is supposed to be a pretty good bar/restaurant.

Best,

Speaking of the Brown County Rally. Justin (or anyone coming from the east) you are more than welcome to stay overnight at my pad. Then we can ride down together.

Rode into Grand Rapids.

I'll tell you why. The BMW dealer sent email newsletter saying "paying cash for used bikes", so I called last week (cold-gray then) had a good chat with the owner-manager and made something of an appointment for today, and called again today to confirm, (beautiful warm clear day today)... and when I get there, well, basically he was too busy closing deal on new bike to talk to some guy (wearing jacket about 1/4th the cost of acceptable) with an old bike. Waited around about 25 minutes and left.

So, since I was on that far side of Grand Rapids, thought of some place to go from there. Rode around the country side on that other side of Grand Rapids. Some rolling farm land.
Stopped at Falasburg Covered Bridge.

Are a couple other covered bridges over that way which can be made into an interesting circuit, but I hadn't prepared for that. So just followed a couple roads that looked interesting on the gps. Then buzzed back on the highway, about an hour.

Only 175 miles, fun to be out even if a large portion of it was urban.

Dave you can't get rid of the ol' bike now. You have to much blood, sweat and tears invested in it. Not to mention money. However, how many miles are on your replacement transmission? That could be something to consider. You don't want to go through all that again. 🤔

I'll text soon buddy!
I'd like to get to your place a decent time to grab dinner, have a few beers and looks at your GS's again.
