A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

anyone go for a ride today? Pics?

Nice poses, GLen. I suspect you arranged that for when parking lot might be empty.

Had a task to do in Traverse City (150 miles north) today. Weather looked good (high in low 70s), so rode up there on state highways (avoided interstate).
Afterwards, headed northwest to Glen Arbor.

Stopped for a late lunch in GLen Arbor. Town was clogged up with tourist parking all over. Restraunts and bars with long wait time (like last time I was there a couple years ago), so got a nice big deli sandwich at a grocery store (also like last time). The grocery store had nice seating area outside where could watch the tourist drive around looking for parking, and walking around deciding where to go.

Rode M-22 south from there and then home. THis bike has now earned it M-22 sticker.

Was out from 1030am till 8pm, 375 miles.
Only stopped for one roadside pic

ANd only one off-route excursion.
Point Bessie Lighthouse on Lake Michigan, less than a mile off of M-22.
Had a nice visitor center, with vidio history playing. COuld buy tickets to walk into lighthouse and climb to top.
But I just walked the grounds some and then walked down the shore a bit. Was there maybe 20 minutes.

Sounds like a truly wonderful way to spend a day.

Dave, it sounds like it was a good day. Another thing I've found that is good about parks and visitor centers is.... bathrooms.

As far as my mural shots go, they were completely unplanned. One of the benefits of getting up at 5am on a Sunday.

Went out early this morning. A quarter mile from my destination my thermos fell off of the bike and the scoundrel behind me ran it over. The coffee stayed put though.
I rode to Ocean Grove, then north thru the beach towns before the throngs of tourists and beachgoers arrived

Contact Thermos - Tell them the story (how the coffee was still hot) and ask them if it's warrantee item ?
I bet they send you a new one ;)

Never gave it a thought. Ill check it out. I've had it since 2013 so I definitely got my money's worth regardless.

Since I only live 40 miles away from the Cincinnati VA hospital, I’m helping with their network switch upgrade/refresh project for the next two weeks. And since parking there is horrendous for my truck, of course I’m going to take the most logical vehicle. So, just got home after putting in 110 miles (yes 40+40 really does equal that especially when you take the fun way down there and slab back home) ;);)

Since we are working from 1 to 11 during the week, 8-8 on the weekends, I might just try to find other ways down there I haven’t tried yet

I went to inspect a granite install at one of our offices
Not a long ride - but I DO like riding near dusk on a cool evening-
This ride took me about 10 miles outta my way - I required 75 more miles to get home ;)

Great looking pair of bikes, Trevor.
I like the lower bars on that Honda. Might be CB400F bars?

Thanks, yeah I love the bars too...not sure what they are off..I'll ask him today at my Friday afternoon safety meeting.
He's owned the bike for 26 years.

Not a ride but some photos of my Friday afternoon safety meeting.
The young guy I have my arm around is a good friend's son that just got back from competing at the Tokyo Olympics. He is a cyclists that races team sport in the velodrome racing. His team finished 5th overall for Canada and set a Canadian record...twice. This kid is crazy...lol

Tudor manor house in Carrick-on-Suir, Co Waterford. The older bits sticking up at the back are the remains of a Norman castle. I'm certain last time I saw it there was no rendering on the front, but the Office of Public Doodahs are quite responsible about things like that, so (without verifying it) I'd assume the rendering is pukka lime-based, and likely what it would have looked like in its heyday.

Oh god....they have a double lot and are applying to build another house behind their house. :( This is what happens when you live in a place with real-estate prices like ours.
