I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

anyone go for a ride today? Pics?

So I was gonna take the sled out for a spin last night. All geared up and the pull rope broke. Well I guess it's better it happened at home instead of out in the woods after a Yukon and doobie break.
OOf that would have been a bummer!
I ripped the cord on my snowblower last storm... Tis the season.
Still rocking the 440?

440? Sounds more like 420. :topsy_turvy: Sorry, I?ll let myself out. :p

Lol I was gonna try out the first legal weed I ever bought too. We stopped at the native american place the other day. I'll tell you what, they have anything you could want there.

The 440 artic cat blew up. I have a 600 Yamaha vmax sled now. Very heavy.

Out and about in above freezing weather!

Nope.

Weather latley has been 5-10-15 degrees below average most days. ANd snowey. (... and had been sick for a while. . . )

Jan 31st was going to be a possibility, was upper 20s near 30, but I still wasn't feeling well.

Anyway, so January was the first month in several years that didnt go for a ride at least on one day.

I have been making a point to go for ride, even if just a short ride, at least one day a month thru the winter months, so that can "ride year 'round". January and Febuary would be the months that have to be quite selective to find a day for a short ride. Mid to upper 20s better than a rare day of abve temps like upper 30s or 40 cuz the snow banks on side of road wil be melting. So that last day of January would have been a good day for a short ride, but, no......

Will see if find a day or two in Febuary.

Same here. It's rare that I don't get out for a least a couple of short rides in January. I can handle a bit of cold, but it's been way too cold and a lot of snow, ice, and salt on the roads.

I got out today for 110 miles. Temperature was upper 50's to lower 60's. Supposed to be 60 again tomorrow.

Next Saturday's high will be in the 20's but the next two days following that are projected to be back into the 50's. Makes me feel like spring is just around the corner.

Now all I need are some crooked and steep roads. Not going to find any around here though.

Had plans to ride my K1300R up island with a few buddies for lunch today....ran an errand for work first and when I came back to my bike it wouldn't start....wasn't sure if it was just a battery or the starter.
Called my BMW dealer and Bernie the service manager had a van and a guy pick me and my bike up within 15min...went back to the dealership and told my buddy the service manager that I had planned to go to lunch up Island....he promptly told me to take a pretty new RT they just took on trade...he said "the tank is full, come back whenever you want".
They called me when I was on my way up island to say it was just a battery and that it was done and waiting for me when I returned.
I'll tell ya...I love my BMW dealer! Great guys that give great customer service!
Oh and the bike was pretty fun too. :)

....
.................... it was just a battery .........
.

Fun ride. Nice posting.

Any comment on cost of said battery and labor...?
(not $70 and not 10 minutes)

Ah, a newer RT for loaner. Fun.
Notice that the clutch is up front of engine now? (not in middle that takes 16 hours of shop labor to do anything).

Finally got a window of decent weather to take the new bike out for a nice ride. Managed to hit some decent twisty roads, but they still had salt and sand on them from recent snow storms, so the pace was pretty mellow. Photo taken in VA on US211, couple miles west of Sperryville.

??.
Ah, so you did make the move to DC area.
by the photo and your report, is seems like not too far from some nice riding.
nice photo of bike and road and scenery.

Yeah it'll be a while yet before the bikes come out. Just a couple small pics of my current ride though. I'm not big on riding the official trails and the snow is just right for meandering through the woods. My favorite kind of snowmobiling.

This is a cool spot. All the underground wires from about 100 wind turbines come into this substation and the power is transferred to a large overhead line that connects to the grid.
