A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

anyone go for a ride today? Pics?

Still ice on the river, temps in the 40's and it's the end of January in NH...an excuse to get out on the GS450 rat bike. Boy, I'm glad I sold my snowmobiles.;)

Winter riding-frozen carbs

Winter riding-frozen carbs

Hi,

I might ride later today after I do some yard work and give my Jessie a bath. But I thought I'd share this with you. Forgive me if you've seen it before. :)

Thank you for your indulgence,

Did a high speed run to the city ,50km,pulled up at a friends house and went to turn off ignition, NO BLOODY KEYS .The only bike key as well.Rode up and down motorway till had to get home as petrol was getting low now just enough fuel left in locked tank to get to locksmith. One of the few downsides of living rurally you have to travel to get anything

I should have ridden today, but I'm an idiot.

Been waiting for weeks to work on the bike because, "It might warm up and I can get a ride in." Finally decided this a.m. to replace the front sprocket, took the cover off and discovered that I don't have the right size socket. Decided it could wait until late in the afternoon when I went to pick up my son from track practice.

Didn't go outside until late afternoon and then discovered it was 56 degrees in Indy today. Arrrgh.

Went home at lunch to pick up my bike as it was 8 (46) degrees out! Nice! Played the riding game. Oh I hope Feb. is as nice as January was.:)

Took a 220 mi ride with my brother on our ST1300's. Made a loop to the south through Smith Valley and met up with a friend to discuss plans to attend a Rally in Denver this summer. It was low to mid fifties throughout the day.

Sorry, no pics, having trouble uploading the video. ARG!

Just a crappy cell phone pic taken at a random gas station Monday evening where I stopped to adjust the handlebars.

I rode the KLR to work Tuesday, and will ride the V-Strom to work today (Wednesday). We'll be back to our regularly scheduled winter sometime tomorrow, but it was a nice couple of days' respite. The GS will come out when the salt has washed off the roads. I've learned my lesson there...

Very nice to be riding again, too. :D

Hey good to see someone getting out in a place where they should be riding a snowmobile instead of a motorcycle.:)

Absolutely B E A utiful here today and I'm stuck inside at work :( 57 and bright sun no wind... *sigh*

Clear and sunny, about 80 deg. Went for a nice backroads ride, no vultures. LOL

I ride every day it doesn't rain or dip below 30 degrees F. I rode at 31 degrees a few days ago but only about 10 miles before stopping for a while. I need to get a camera.

Got out for a little bit to look at another acquisition.
It looks like it will be following me home.
It is definitely a "beater" and needs lots of love but, it does run. ;)
I feel almost like I will be cheating as it does run already. :o
Well, sort of anyway. Leaking carb and leaking petcock, etc...

Another rescue:clap: did you get a decent deal?

But, of course!;)
I paid $100 for the engine, $100 for the swing arm, $100 for the the '83 exhaust and for $50, I got the steering damper, carbs, title, seat and the rest of it!

Daniel

Don't you know, NONE of these run without a completely buttoned up tight, factory air box! LMAO!!!
Enough hi-jacking this thread. I will start a build thread once it comes home to roost.

Pics...? No. Just a short ride to & from work today. Temps in the high 30's is all I need to roll out the GS for the day. Tomorrow might be okay for more, but need to see how cold it gets early...

Went home at lunch to get the bike and finish work rounds on it. Sunny and 11 degrees (52) Feb 1st CRAZY!! This is a pic over looking some roof tops and the Pacific ocean. Oh yeah did 85kms (53mi):D
