DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Are V-Rods a pariah?

I am not a Harley fan by any means. I do like the V Rod and all indications are they are pretty reliable pieces. I don't like the looks of the newer V Max beast, horsepower aside, I prefer the early look by far. I would buy a V Rod if it didn't involve making payments, the seat height and center of gravity were pretty low when I sat in the saddle. You can find supporters and detractors for anything ever made, so it doesn't matter what everyone else thinks. I'd take a V Rod over a lot of popular bikes I can think of, especially those butt ugly plumbing nightmares made by Ducati.

I rode a V-Rod back in 06 on a test ride along with some other HD's.

I remember thinking it was a pretty nice motor wrapped in a crap chassis.

Unlike some brainwashed MoCo zombies, many of us don't buy overpriced, overslow dinosaurs when we can purchase the inexpensive and rapid mammals that superseded them.

Some of us do both. If you never have then you really don't know.
If its what ya want, its what ya want.:D

Pretty huh?

Anyone who buys a V-Rod for the kinds of machine it is will probably like it, it's a well made bike. Anyone who buys it to be part of the 'Harley Crowd' is likely to be disappointed, as they kind of snub the V-Rod from what I hear.

Tap tap tap....

"The Sportster's Tess, the Softail's Joe, but the V-Rod is Pariaaaaah!"

Thank you! Thank you! No, you're too kind!

I like the V-Rod but then I'm not really what one might call a "Harley Purist". I like most all bikes, even the ugly ones;)
My daughters ex boyfriend had one for a few years. Never rode it but he seemed to like it.

" V max is a pig it weighs a ton and with a really good rider it only went a 10.13"

I love this ****. I do not care what you are on or in, that is a very badass machine.

To someone who know nothing about true performance. The Warrior is much more of a badass machine. A bike I would own. I am not a brand rider I am a bike rider and I like most all bikes even Harley's. I guess I dislike the Vmax because of how they took a high hp motor and put it in a block of concrete.
I will own a Harley someday when I find one that is a 1959 Sportster that I can restore the only year I would own

If you guys think that Warrior is "bada$$" in any configuration, you'd $hit your drawers after riding a V-MAX. If you haven't, you need to ride one and see what the fuss is all about, and then join the force.

If you think the Vmax is quick and and fast the you need to ride my 98 Bandit it will pull your arms out of their sockets
The Vmax is a over priced joke. 1679cc and only 175hp. The average rider can't even get in the 10's. I can get well over 200 hp from 1425cc from a 1985 GS1150 and not spend 1/2 of what a Vmax cost 20G's that's just nuts I have maybe 7G's in my 98 Bandit and my 85 1150 would tear it up also heck my stock motor 84 GSX1100 would give it a good run

Really? That's where this thread is going now, my bike is faster than your bike? Seriously? I have a B-King, which IS faster than the 2nd generation VMAX, capable of high 9's in the quarter mile without too many mods. It's also about HALF THE PRICE, so yea, I agree with the 2nd generation VMAX being overpriced, which is the only reason I haven't bought one. Soon as I find one for 10K or less, I'll add it to my collection, I have ridden a few of them and they are impressive bikes, if not as "all out fast" as my B-King. That being said, I'm sure your Bandit is a fast bike too. Most drag races are actually determined by the riders anyway!
