A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Arizona road trip

OK, so I live in this state, but there is so much to see that I love setting out each summer on a road trip.

Last year I did a trip in my 4x4 and included some four-wheeling. This year the trip will be on the GS. It will cover about 700 miles in six days, with a hike at each location, a visit to a highly recommended restaurant in each, and some of the best roads Arizona has to offer (and if you haven't ridden the Devil's Highway, you have no idea: 525 turns in 91 miles, from elevations of 7000 feet down to 2500. It makes the Dragon look toothless).

I will set out on June 21st and make my first stop in Sedona, overnighting and hiking Twin Pillars.

From there, I will head to the Grand Canyon to hike Bright Angel.

Then it's on to Munds Park and another Sedona hike, Courthouse Butte.

The next day will see me in Pinetop, hiking the Mogollon Rim.

Heading down the 191, my next stop will be at Hannagan Meadow, with a hike to Acker Lake.

I will spend the final night in Safford, soaking in the hot springs at Essence of Tranquility before heading back to Phoenix by way of Globe for lunch.

Please post lots of pics. Been thirty years since I was there so memories are a bit faded but I do remember some spectacular beauty.........

It's a stunner of a state. I have no idea how long it will be habitable on the scale it is currently, but the desert, the mountains, the lakes and rivers, all these things add up to incredible experiences, especially when connected by by roads like the 191. I will post a lot!

Thanks, at some point I'd like to do that trip as well. My Jump off is Oro Valley north of Tucson.

Light is good. My long weekend setup consists of a set of soft sabblebags and another bag strapped to the pillion.
Tank bags always seemed to me that they would be a hassle during fuel stops.

Aaah the Devil's ride, so close and yet so far away. I'm with in 4 hrs of old 666. Gonna ride it here at some time.

A group of us used to ride it once a year on our FZ1s. The most exhausting road I've ridden-real nirvana.

Haven't loaded the bag onto the bike yet, but the bike itself is ready to go.
