I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.
Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

Returning Visitors
If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.
If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Yes I am finding out that getting the original seat and/or exhaust may be too difficult.
The correct parts manual would be a good start but even getting that is proving difficult.

Send a PM to Sharpy, he owns a GS1000ST and he is probably your best bet. He has 4 into 1 on his gem. I fairly certain though Suzuki no longer sells any GS1000 seats.

I have a parts catalogue with all part numbers for the ST. You will not get the seat or exhaust new but if you need any other numbers or still want them let me know.

Ahem! Good to see you on here so soon, neilaction! Trust that you're continuing to enjoy the motorcycle; my garage is feeling a touch empty and desolate since you rode it away. 
But I still have the old Katana to keep me company.
FYI I'm sure that the seat on your bike is the original item; Australian SN's had the flatter seat, but the later ST's scored the 'stepped' item.
What is not original is the vinyl cover, which I put on it as the original had gone the way of all originals (bar those in museums).
Now then, parts numbers... if you go to AlphaSports you will find a parts diagram for the ST's mufflers and headers here.
BUT they might not be the right parts for Australian ST's... for example, if you look up the fiche for the instruments (listed as 'combination meter'), you'll see that they've got what we Australians would know as SN instruments.
I do know that our ST mufflers were shorter than the SN's -- coming level with about the rear axle, I think, whereas the SN extended to be approx. level with the rear tyre.
Beyond that I can't offer much help. Happy hunting mate.

Haven't had too much time to enjoy the bike yet.
Just getting a handle on what's out there regarding parts etc.
You are right about exhaust and seat, remember this is my second ST, all be it 27 years apart.
I believe what we here in Aus got as an ST is quite different to what is on line at Alpha Sports or the bikebandit.com
Pity as those sites are very good.
But no matter.
I am busily preparing the shed.
Oh and finishing off a bit of painting etc so "she who must be obeyed" is kept happy.
Once I disappear down the shed with the new toy, I mean "project", she might not see me for 6 months.
I have had some very helpful information from a couple of members here, thanks Sharpy and Shedman, so I'm sure things will be fine.
I have also obtained a couple of good pics of an ST in near original condition. It shows the pipes and seat very well.

If anyone has any ST photos please post them. I have a US spec ST that has been bastardized a fair bit so some reference photos would be nice. My bike was missing the exhaust when I got it but Salty_Monk sold me some decent 1000E pipes off of a '79 (I think). They seem to bolt right on but I'd like to see what the real ST pipes are supposed to look like - the fishe at Alpha Sports is no help.

What we really need in the hunt for the right part numbers and (hopefully, in some dusty warehouse, the right parts) is a Suzuki parts person who actually *wants* to help us get the right parts.
I mean, so many of the blokes at the parts counters (i) weren't born when the ST came out, (ii) couldn't give a toss, and so (iii) they just tell you the part isn't available.
So maybe that's where the search should begin: find a dedicated Suzuki parts bloke, and let's see if we can get some correct part numbers for the Australian ST (and not just the same old SN part numbers, or ST part numbers for the non-Australian markets).

Yes it was.

From what I can remember, the blue ones went early and were possibly in relatively low numbers.
When Doug went to buy his new, there were only red ones left.
Out of the 6 of us that STs at the time, 4 were red and 2 were blue.
