A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

Hello.

I've sifted through the board but to no avail.

I'm trying to find out whether and how it is possible to remove the auto cancelling unit from my wiring system.

Bearing in mind I'm doing major mods to the loom (1135 EFE engine swap to Katana frame) I'm probably going to be unwrapping and rewrapping most of it due to any relocation of the electrical devices, maybe its just a cut oit of the wiring of the control unit and rearranging the wires of the basic flasher circuit while I'm there ?

I have both diagrams but if anyone has done a similar job do let me know 😄

Thanks

Unplug it, ditch the old three pin flasher and fit a two pin type ?
That's how mine is.
You may even get away with using the old three wire plug on the new flasher.

The system used both a flasher unit and a Turn Signal Control Unit, which is the auto cancel box device. The TSCU can be unplugged and removed, and the flashers will still work, but the auto cancel will be disabled.

Yup. Unplug it and there ya go. (Honestly, I really love this aspect of how the system is designed; unplug the fancy box and you get a system that still works, just without the fancy auto cancel stuff.)

If the auto-cancel box works but you don't want it, I bet you could sell it here without much trouble.

The stock flasher is some sort of alien three-wire technology. If the stock flasher is bad, I've learned (by doing) that you can physically plug in a standard two-terminal flasher (leaving one terminal in the plug empty).

It won't work this way, but if you experiment for 30 seconds with a couple of jumper wires, you'll find which two terminals can be connected to the flasher to make it start ponging away happily. I don't remember which ones they are; it's too simple to be worth remembering.

Then use a weensy screwdriver or similar to release the locking tabs on the terminals you need to swap, push them back into the connector, and Robert's your mother's brother.

If you're reworking the harness anyway, you can then get rid of the wires going to the TSCU you don't need.

On mine the Orange/Green is the supply direct from the fusebox.
The pale Blue is to the bar switch.
The Black/Blue goes to the TSCU and can be ignored.
