A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Since I have to replace a carb on my 1100, (my easy out broke off in the pilot screw and I can't seem to drill it out), what would be a good size to look for, or should I stick with stock? Thanks.

Put an ad in the Parts Wanted forum for the specific carb you need. There are lots of folks around here with spare carb parts, include carb bodies. If you are not capable of getting the carbs together yourself, look up Chef and he'll hook you up.

How would the dynojet stage 3 kit/36mm 1150 carbs do on a stock 1100E w/ a header, k.n. in box filter ? any better than the 34's?

yes!

The message you have entered is too short. Please lengthen your message to at least 10 characters.

sorry,
i thought you meant with individual filters...
don't mess with it...the 34's are fine.

so what about those rail cars blowing up in Bakersfield???
was that some of your doing bill:eek:
Kris V and I were dragracing through the Tehachapi loop and hit a one-hundred car train head on.
What a mess. Fifty trains backed up trying to get to Bako and LA. Happened in a tunnel too. Denatured Alcohol, plastic pellets and corn meal.

You should've. You're welcome here. Lot's of good roads and I'm sure I could of scrounged up a bike for you.

It is a stock 81 GS1100 that has been sitting for years. I'm just going to ride it in town, but I want it to run good. I don't know wheather to find a stock carb, (outside left, sitting on bike) or look for a set of 36mm's off an 1150. I take it they are different then the 36mm RS flatsides. The RS seem rather expensive from what I've seen so far.

There is a set of 1150 carbs on Fleabay right now. They seem to be missing a float bowl and possibly some other things. I can fill in the blanks if you choose to purhase.

I saw those, You think that would make mine run good? Would my stock boots work?

If the motor is good yes.
And yes to the boots.
You will need a left handlebar switch for the choke if you have the choke that goes up through the triple tree.
