Some Bike porn... Ahh god those lines
Alright I have 25 more days left till I can get down to CT to pick up my BK. I know I can't ride the Frickin' thing till March but at least it will be in my door yard and I can drool allot over it till Old man Winter releases his grip. I did some number look-up because everyone knows getting overly excited and researching makes time go by faster...

Facts:
Suzuki B-king on the Dyno Produces 161.5 WHP and 97.9 Ft/lbs of torque...
My FZ1 Produces 129.8 WHP and 67.22 Ft/lbs of torque...

The Torque curve of a Stock B-king... Who am I kidding its not a curve at all... It's a frickin' flat line
122_0903_30_z+2008_suzuki_b_king+dyno.jpg

Dyno sheet off a stock FZ1 (it's a 2011) So the Gen 1 has a tad more torque and a tad less HP.

I'm trying to fathom how the bike is going to run. I found out the service history of the machine and it has an ECU piggy back unit, 2 Bros exhaust and K&N filter. All those mods I think only yield 8 more Horsepower but it bring's the bike to life in the first 3 gears by removing the ignition retard. Oh and the speed limiter has been removed(because that's important??). Also the torque breaks the 100 ft/lbs barrier... Which is more then my car...

I ride my Buddies FZ6's and they produce 95 WHP and my FZ1 gives them no chance to keep up... a My Fizzy is the fastest bike I've ever ridden, I can't imagine something being able not to just go faster but walk away from my FZ1...

I'm working out everyday to increase my stabilizer muscle strength. I was told by the guys with the Suzuki dealer I should do it... Seriously for the bike is brutal.

I intend on setting up the Go pro on my windscreen and pointed at me so when I do the first ride everyone can see my first reaction... I also will be wearing Depends adult under garments.

HOW THE HELL DO YOU GUYS DISTRACT YOURSELF WHEN YOU HAVE TO WAIT TO BUY A BIKE!?!?!

Ahh man this is nearly unbearable.
Thanks for entreating me... I guess...

Yes, interesting. The max torque on the FZ1 is where the min torque starts on the B King. WOW!!!

In my opinion, the BK is overkill. And I like that...a lot!

Hang in there Jed.

Jedz, you're gonna love that thing.
Here's a cool (longish) video to entertain yourself with over the next 25 days: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jApCAEq3LTU
More or less parallels the research you've done, albeit with circa '99 YZF-R1 vs. GSX-R 1300 ... vs. Blackbird vs. ZZR. Nuts :)
Frank... Those guys are nuts! Great video! Thanks for the share... The Hayabusa just owns everything else... I couldn't believe how fast it was going... 215mph indicated wow. The sound track was definitely dated but that was OK. Kinda puts a perspective of what Realm I'm now entering. the Hayabusa revolutionized and defined what a hyper bike is... Oh man your right I'm going to love it!

There's all kinds of B-King videos on YouTube, I like the ones where the guys ride wheelies all the way into 4th gear, and drop the front wheel down at about 140 MPH. LOL. Seriously, I had a hard time keeping the front wheel on the ground, 1-3rd gear. At WOT, it was darn near impossible to, and I have to admit, I kinda liked riding on one wheel. LOL. Just be careful, that bike is a monster and will sneak up on you in a heartbeat, you might even want to ride it in "B" mode for a day or two, until you get used to it. Here's what mine sounded like with the Two Brothers exhaust, I also had the TRE to disable the factory rev limiter. I made this video for the guy I sold it to, that's why I didn't get on it and kept it on two wheels. LOL.

Do a search for Velocity Racing's turbo B-King... And see if you can get your hands on copies of UK-based Superbike magazine where they added a supercharger to their long-term King.

Ive been on the Youtube watching all sort of Videos... There so fast. I was thinking the same thing. Run B mode for a bit and get use to it... B mode makes it as a fast as my Fizzy... Maybe a tad slower. LOL. I also just want to hop on and see what level of power I'm dealing with now. Thanks for the Share of the video, bike sounds great my BK comes with the same exhaust (Carbon fiber). So here's a Q I can't locate. Does (B) mode yield better mileage as in MPG?I would love to find the answer to that but it looks like most keep it in A mode and TWIST!

I manged to pull the whole service history with the VIN at my local suzuki dealer. It's got all the good upgrades... I talked to my insurance company and the told me it's booking closer to $8K with all the accessories. I went to NADA and my jaw dropped when I plugged it in:

Yes I nabbed it at $5500... Clean title and one owner. Opened from the Crate and sold in 2012(it was back stock)... Only 2 season on the bike...

Since my Budget for a Gen 2 Hayabusa or B-king was $7K-$8K I 'm sitting on quite the bike budget surplus of about $3K... I'm thinking down the road I will likely introduce Forced Induction to my King.... Allot of support and kits available, mainly because it has the same heart as it's sister bike. Just .5 bar (7psi) expect well over 200WHP... Yeah. I'm thinking about it...

...Your only young once...

$5500 was a STEAL, I just hope the bike is as nice in person as the pictures show it to be! Makes no sense that a dealer would sell a bike for 25% less than what it's worth on the open market, no sense at all, especially a beast like that!

Ok Jedz, just don't try to out accelerate me...lol:D

The K1300R can also be considered a muscle bike, a slang term for bikes with high power output and fast acceleration. In tests carried out by Bike Magazine in the UK, its ok 2.81 second 0?100 km/h (0?62 mph) time made it the fastest accelerating muscle bike, beating its next closest competitor, the Suzuki B-King, by one tenth of a second.[SUP][4][/SUP]

I think it had a couple of things not going for it... I mean it has this touring setup on it, which is really... well I'll say it, Fugly...

The mileage also might have something to do with it... It has 19K on the clock(which is the highest I've seen on the market), Will need new brake pads soon. they've been totally honest when they talked to me over the phone... Miles are irrelevant to me for I know these motors go well over 100K miles with no issues. Brakes will cost me less then $100 to fix.

Also some minor scuffing on the front wheel fender, No breaks But it has been scuffed. All I've got on why on the price...
6960_125090.jpg

It also has been on the lot since late March of last year. Never sold all through last season, I've actually kept my eye on this B-king and 2 others in my range all through last season when I was contemplating and started saving for either a B-king and V-max. This one was listed for $7800 in June, Then $7000 in August, $6500 In September then $5900 in December... I called and offered $5500 Mid January and I locked it in.

Trev you would have been proud of me, I ACTUALLY LOOKED AT A K BIKE!

2013 was the last year it was available in the states and this was the one a buddy of mine had for sale. This one is fully fared with BMW hard case luggage. Only has 2300 miles! He traded his 08 Hayabusa for it for he was looking for a more tour friendly yet fast machine. We talked he wanted more then I was budgeted to spend, I thought about it and didn't want to finance it out... He wanted $13K, The highest I wanted to go was $10K... We obviously never made an agreement but I did work with him for a few days over it... Awesome bike... I considered it because of you actually and how much you love your K...

The shaft drive is another aspect that appealed to me for I ride allot and chain service (especially on a powerful bike) is frickn' taxing and expensive.

Won't try to out accelerate you, I think we would be both well gunned ;).

What's the B King's redline? (Looks like 10 in the pic, I would've thought higher.)

10.5K I believe. Maximum power is at 9.5K. Fine by me, My Fizzy is too revvy for my liking and it has to spin up to 11.5k rpm to get all the HP out of it... I couldn't imagine it being that revvy for its a big displacement. My Bandit 1200 Red-lined at 10K rpm and it wasn't worth bringing it to redline. I'd often just wring it out till 9.5K.... the torque was awesome! Power down low is definitely nicer.

Burger King I could use a 600 plus calorie Whopper right now.

Get a Big Mac instead, they soon will be a thing of the past... I hear McDonald's is discontinuing them. Something to do with 22% down in sales the last 1/4. Crazy huh?

i like the LED strips mounted in the front indicators. I had thought about doing that on mine for added visability but never got around to it.

It's a nice accent for sure. The bike has allot of little touches like that all over it. The stainless steel lines are going to be very nice and will be timeless to wear. Because of its rarity I'll likely never sell this one.
