A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Bmw k1300?

And that is Trevor, who has a K1300R. But he won't let you ride it :). PM him to get his views.

Lol....I am that man! 54000kms in 3 years! This is a brilliant bike in all ways!!! If you want to know more...let me know

Well is it worth the money? Does it destroy its tires and components?
How much of a hit is the insurance? They are quite cheap for older models so whats the deal are their lurking faults or is it like Ducatis in that the maint is crazy high cost.

I have the BMW cd a god awful databse syle manual.
What about the weight is it low co of g? cause its 520 plus pound wet. Im currently on a 441.65 wet bike.

Whats the servicing cost at dealer? Im loolking at a 2009 with 30 thousand kms or so. ANd yeah its coming up on its servicing. The manual shows valve setting as speperate charge from check so how long do the valve s wear in real life.

Easy to handle if your a man.

Hahaha Just bustin' chops!

All seriousness the bike doesn't feel that heavy. I've knocked about 40lbs off mine with Running ZX-14 bits and aftermarket bits. Bags off and sport screen on the thing rides Awesome. Keeps a line very very well. Still heavy but the tetra lever shaft drive soaks up some weight.

My post had the sole purpose to get a rise out of Trev.

K1300 is a great machine, but I can't justify spending the coin on a BMW... Yet. But all invested in my Connie I still paid less the what I would have spent to get a K1300.

what did you pay some 1300s are sub 10 k cdn.
30 000 plus kms. They dont seem to get very cheap with considerably more mileage though.

The naked version like Trevor has is one of the coolest looking motorcycles on the planet, very Terminator-ish.

Right now Im finding offerings with 15-20K miles (24-32k KM) for $4.5-6K USD (6-7.8 CAD).
1352cc I-4 DOHC W/ VV-T.
ZX-14 lump so it will take every ZX-14 mod you throw at it... So the after market is HUGE and CHEAP

Yes the only K worth having IMHO. Trev's bike is a very nice machine.

We never got the R in the US, just like the MT-01 so same import problems. You could register it at Trevor's address though :)
I have had BMW cars, the engineering is incredible. They had features 15 years ago that are just becoming common today.

I know a guy here that just got transferred to the usa and tried like heck to get his k1300r in the country with him...no go. BMW would not help and customs would not allow it either. And believe me, this guy tried everything...he was heart broke that there was NO way of bringing it with him.
To the OP...I have been trying to respond by my internet keeps shutting down. I will answer all your questions today. Cheers

Damn I see one with bags acs abs and a cup holder.........

Is there any difference other than cosmetics with the "S"? 5 year 30k examples seem affordable, roughly the same as a Concours 14
