Well I didn't wake up this morning thinking I would buy another bike....but I couldn't resist this one....damn I love facebook market place!!
2002 Bandit 1200S...it's the same one I had that I had my accident on 4 years ago...can't believe it's been over 4 years already.
Any way...50,000kms (30,000 miles) on the bike...the owner bought it in 2008 with only 3000kms on it, so basically a one owner bike.
Very well looked after...guy is 74 and owns another bike....a gsx1250 Suzuki and the bandit has sat in his garage for 3 years....fuel drained.
Has new chain and sprockets, Hindle exhaust with stage one jet kit (and it came with the original exhaust)
Battery dead and it wasn't even in the bike as he was using it as a gate stop in his driveway...lol
Really nice guy....oh and 3 extra windscreens.
$1000 Canuck bucks! (about $3 US) :p
Needs a bit of a clean up....and I'm not worried about it running. :)

Congrats. on the find, I never find deals like that. 2002, that's half way between my "99", and "05" Bandits, I've never been on a "02". Wondering if the "02" would be more like the "99" or more like the "05"? Reason wondering, my 2 bandits are totally different bikes. "99" being much more comfortable, agile, fun to ride, and waaay uglier than the beautiful Blue/white "05" model.

Unreal, Trevor. Think I’ve said it before. My Dad used to use the phrase, “dipped in sh!t”, to mean a very lucky person. Well done.

Shyte...697 real dollars...pocket change!

Is everything that cheap up there? I may be living on the wrong coast...:frog:

Man I don't know how many times I've told you yanks I can't understand for the life of me why you guys aren't here buying out bikes! Seriously...what's wrong with you guys??? Bikes are cheaper here aaaaannnnd it's in Canadian dollars...which means you save another 30%....what are you guys waiting for??? Lol

Lol...my luck seems to be better later in life...but all kidding aside...when you constantly are looking at bikes for sale and all your buddies are too (a buddy notified me in a text of the bandit) you are going to find deals.
By the way....put a new battery in tonight and we got a runner!! Sounds awesome! :)

Today I spent the day detailing and going over the Bandit.....I think, besides my Cooley this might be the best deal I have ever gotten on a bike.
Bike $1000
Battery $78
two Michelin Pilot 5 tires $300
Total
$1378.00
Rode it yesterday and it runs great!

That one is too new to import to the USA unless it has an EPA sticker... Nice bike for sure. They feel SO much lighter than a GS.

Always wanted to try one of those, they seemed 'just right'. I'd get that Dynojet sticker off toot sweet tho.

Trevor - I see that Fiat 500 (?) - hard to tell with my eyes but I think so. It makes me wanna tell this story. When I first moved to Southern CA in '77 I met a HS friend and his longtime sidekick. both were into cars and bikes etc. Pal #1 would drive us 3 amigos up the truck trails way up into the San Gabriel wilderness with his dad's '63 Ford F100 (292 with police interceptor heads, supposedly). His dad banned him from driving it though because my buddy was a banshee, and was beating it to death.

Luckily his neighbor took pity on him and gave him a pretty decent but clapped-out 600D, maybe '68 or so. We strong-armed the engine out, did the rings and clutch/bearing etc., and fired it up, The three of us piled in and we headed up Euclid Avenue. It's a long incline, maybe 4%. We couldn't do more than 25MPH. Pulled over and I smelled brakes burning. The E-brake was on. Whew. Now we could cruise! We smoked a couple cigs and waited for the red-hot drums to cool down, and took off again with the brake disengaged. Damned if we didn't hit nearly 30 MPH!

I bought my nice 1967 Ford Cortina GT in North Vancouver. If the Ferry had been running I would have been to the island. Fiat 600. I drove an 850 Sport Coupe in the early 70s. Trailing throttle oversteer was fun. Every time I had 30 bucks in my pocket that car took it. 30 bucks was enough to fix something, ha ha.

Ha! Mark sent me the link to that bike within minutes of it going up on Marketplace, guess he thought that my 1250 needed a friend? Glad it found a caring home.

For a short time in my youth, I had a Cortina GT, '68 as I remember....
I loved that car. Had a crumpled right, front fender, but so fun to drive.
I've had my eye out for another for many years....

Mine...

Lol he sent it to a few of us. I got the guy to call me and I told him I’m on my way. He said it’s yours you contacted me first. Honestly besides the Cooley the best deal I’ve ever gotten.

Nice score. Good luck keeping that front tire on the ground. Hopefully that one doesn't have the oil burning problem my 2001 had.
