A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Brake Line Kit

Any recommendation for replacement brake line kit?
My brake lines are still the original stock (have "03/82" printed on them). I can grab more brake and dont get any more braking, but if hold fingers on brake line can feel it expand some.

I would like replacement set that has somewhat stock appearance, that is black, about that size.
Would also like a premaded kit of the 3 front lines and the one back line (or maybe that is two kits).

Have seen the custom ones where have to specify each fitting and what angle, turn, on one end, the length and then then specify the fitting and what angle and turn. Seems like a lot of details, and chance for error.

Have had a recommendation of Apex Rensport, but that is stainless steel braided lines.

Did look back through many pages of threads.

THanks.

But the Rennsport/Apex ones do come in black as an option. 5 Colors to choose from: Black, Red, Blue, Green or Clear (Silver). I have this link saved for my 650 but likely any bike can have a different colour. go through the blah blah about half way
Otherwise, I'm sure my local bike shop did mention I could replace with Suzuki originals but I didn't follow up to see ...

I just bought a black set from Rennsport , installed them last week and did my first test ride yesterday. The black lines look nice in my opinion but are smaller in diameter. I didn't notice them working any better than stock, but I may need to bleed them one more time. The lines on our two 1100's should be the same but the rear line they sent was too long (38"). Raymond quickly responded when I notified him of the problem. New line sent out at no charge. I vaguely remember someone with our bikes had the same problem with the rear line and it was quickly replaced. I had him send me a 32" and it worked, but I'd go another inch or two shorter next time. Measure yours! All the ends were correct. New banjo bolts and crush washers were supplied. Cost, $123 plus change shipped. If you'd like a picture, shoot me a pm.
