A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Incredible track, with a hump called The Mountain where bikes get airborn. Very narrow track, with huge elevation changes up and down beautiful green grass hills.
Anybody done a track day there??

That is a very cool track. I tried to watch a season or two of BSB, but whatever channel I found it on didn't really keep up with the season. Quite often they'd show races from previous years or something.

So anyway. Yeah. I love watching them catch air over the mountain. Quite often, not even upright when they do it.

If you can find a copy of BSB 2000, some great battles between Chris Walker ("the stalker") on the SRAD & Neil Hodgsen on a hand me down 99 Duc.
My VHS player still works.

Shame on your ignorant soul. Did you know that the Triumph provides the spec engine for Moto 2??

Hmm...obviously not.

I've never ridden a Triumph. I was intrigued by the rebirth of the company, especially when I read about the Speed Triple (20 years ago, now?)

But I remember very well the mid '70's, when I started street riding. Rode with a guy who had a Trident. Heard about the problems, saw the bike close up, and decided I was glad I had my Honda CB350.

Thanks for the CW article.

Yes, but has there been a British super bike in over half a century?

1992 steve hislop won the senior tt on the "white charger" Norton rotary one of the best tt's ever between foggy and hislop

The Norton was hitting 200 mph on a very limited budget two years before anyone else

You got to remember how old I am. For me, the first "superbike" was the CB 750. Then, for 20 years, nothing much below a liter qualified. I'm not talking about racing, track day or anything like that.

I'm aware of MotoGP, Moto2, and the newer "American Superbike" class. I guess the usage has changed from street lingo, Cycle World covers to official racing classes.

How you gonna document street terms? We got "Superbike" from racing organizations, not from kids at the drive in…

Didn't Honda coin the term in it's original ad for the 1968 750/4? Didn't it say something like, "If this is your year for a superbike..."?

I was at Brands Hatch for round 4 of the BSB. I was a guest in one of the hospitality suites on the start/ finish straight. What a day and what a noise when the bikes started and passed during the races.

That was a wet day…

If you've done a few track days, you can qualify just how much athletic skill, strength and endurance it takes to complete a race.
I've been watching the footwork on the inside, getting heel and toes up and safe.
