Thinking of this fairing. Its cheap enough that if i didn't like it i wouldn't be hurt over it. Maybe mount it to the forks like an s fairing? Opinions?

I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.
Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

Returning Visitors
If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.
If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Don't buy it unless you want a fairing. They're for getting the wind from blowing against your chest.
Some people want the wind in their chest. Some people don't want any wind and just ride along in still air.
Me, I wanted the wind to move around me instead of blowing me backwards off the bike, or chilling me on cold days.

I dig it. As Bill said, you should identify what you want the fairing to do. Handlebar placement may be a consideration as well due to the low looking cutouts on the side.

Id like the wind to be a little less, especially at highway speeds. Going to use the bike to drive from vero beach fl to daytona beach on the veekends which is about 2.5 hours each way
The problem with fairings is the better they look, it seems like the less they work. lol

I like the way it looks and it does keep some wind off my chest, but it seems to direct all the bugs and rocks right at my helmet visor.

I really like bills fairing that he has from airtech but its out of my price range for the time being
A quarter fairing (headlight-handlebar mount) fairing will work well for what you're asking for.
The Cooley Airtech fairing with screen adds up to $300 unpainted. Some other top line fairings are the same cost.
The ones you've posted look cool to me, somewhat like vintage Ducati race fairings, but doubtful about quality when I see a price so low.
Molded ABS and kinda thin? OEM fairings are ABS but rather thick and sturdy.
The Airtech fairings are thin fiberglass and easy to work with-modify. They can be reinforced with additional layers, and cut to fit. Some are made more sturdy than others.

Im post likely going to order this one at the end of of the month and see how i like it. Its cheap enough that if its worthless i wont be upset. Im wondering if i could mount it on the frame instead of the forks though. Tough call on that one

Speaking as someone who has one of these fairings, it's good quality and fits well, but after getting it I was a bit disappointed that it didn't have the rolled and beaded trailing edge that it comes with from the factory.

To revive this oldish thread,
One thing I've discovered about the old style bubble windscreen, they don't deflect the airstream up and away. When I sit up normally the air flows over them smoothly and right into my chest.
When I crouch very low and just peek over the edge of the bubble I get the maximum protection.
The 1990 GSX750F windscreen is designed to deflect the the airstream up and away. It's much smaller but I can sit up and not feel much wind in my chest.

no, i was doing random google searches and stumbled across this.. thought it was funny since i considered this fairing for my old gs, i only didnt get it because i was leery of how itd look on a gs.. i have to say, i should have done it LOL
i have considered possibly using the upper section of the xr69 for that old school look, but im keeping the factory tail so my girlfriend can ride with.. i am going to get another gs before the years out... this would be a serious option now that ive seen it.

hey bill, i cant remember your set up... like i remember you used the ducati style and it looked really good, but what bars did you run and did you install rearsets? i feel like the only way to take advantage of a "race style" fairing like this is to have low bars or clipons and rearsets so that youre naturally leaned over?? and yes thats an invitation to post your 1100 :emmersed:
