A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

thanks to another thread I remembered I needed to get some 12.9 hardened bolts for my starter clutch so they don't sheer off and ruin my day. They are only a couple bucks so very good insurance.

My engine guy hasn't started reassembly yet but promises next week it will be done.

My chasis is done. Installed my speedo cable and just waiting for an ignition from ebay. Hope it shows up.

great news...the shocks are coming in Black springs..

I got a hold of ohlins and they will switch the yellow springs for black which makes me very happy...don't like the yellow on my 'BEAST'

One drag is they don't offer diff lengths of shock. I wanted to get a 13.5" shock but they only come in standard 13.0. They do however have a height adj. which gives you 10mm more length.

MAN,,,

This makes me wish I had a steering wheel on my bike....

I finished mounting my clocks and ignition to the vortex triple. I didn't think I would get this done till sometime this winter but the solution come to me and it worked.

Now I just have to sort out the lower and the stem........urg

Lookin good :)
Have you decided what your doing with the tail light yet?
I know you were kicking ideas around.
Just don't put any Honda parts on it

toooo late,

that is a cbr 954 triple. The tail light is still up in the air.

I'm an equal opertunity builder...If it is cool and faster I will put it on..

And that tripple is both.

That Vortex dropped upper clamp is beautiful...kinetic sculpture. Looks SWEET with the Kat gauge pod mounted to it - nice integration.
That's a great solution for using modern forks, typically shorter than the spindly OEM legs. I've been mulling that over lately...
Is that a 'catalog' item, or custom-order?

Ted

Yeap, just like my Harley used to have the Made In America badge, flip it over and it said made in Tawan. Didn't make much sence, forks JMC, wheels Australia, chrome goodies Tawan. Well at least the gasoline is made in America, oops we import that too.

Looking for a badge that says not made in America

that was an ebay purchase Ed.

I have a stock black upper you can have for cheap.

Another glitch.....

my new welded heavy duty clutch has an 1150 gear on it and won't fit.....ahahahahahahah. LOVE IT!

Do I send it back and get it changed or do I sell the 1150 complete basket and do another one???????

I will think about it for a day or two...the bottom end is together..saw it today when I picked up my basket. I also had my first blown engine nightmare last night so it must be getting close.....lol.

got my second kat 1100 motor today...Now I have everything I need to start the next project...think I will wait a bit till the main one is on the road though......

It's got an after market oil filter cap with the oil fittings in it..why I don't know? the 1100's don't need em. there are supposed to be a few other goodies on it. I will see when I open it up.

Sounds like you need to start yet another thread

Rock on man!

Here is the motor I picked up for that set of 99 forks I had. I don't know if I am keeping it for a spare and find another one for next project or use it.

Dude, I have two questions for you- where do you find all this sweet stuff, and where the heck do you find all the money?

Man that looks like one sweet engine there...

81,82.83 1100's will all fit. You just need to make a new lower motor mount and move the motor mounting hole ahead about an inch or so and it's all good.
