A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

You might try a local radiator repair shop. Any good shop should be able to fix your cooler.

Hey, it's worth a couple of phone calls!

This is good advice! I got a radiator copper sealed for under 30 bucks once. This thing should be a lot less I would think.

DAMN! 8O

Very, very nice work, man. You must be more pleased than if you had gone out and bought a brand new 'Busa!

Sooooo, what's the total $$$$$$ tally here, huh?

GSXR1300 Busa- $10,500
Self built, one of a kind, classic Katana- PRICELESS

At least it lives Rob :)

Can't wait to see it completed. So how about that sound byte? We want to hear it roar man :D

The beast is back in the shop today.....

I paid for a dry engine so he gets the honors of fixin it..He is also going to pilot down the carbs .they are loading up a bit since I can't get on it.

He said it will be done today but I won't expect it till tomorrow.

WELL, WELL,

He did get it done today...she is dry now and he fixed my little clutch problem. He had to shim it .020 but I took him a couple basket bearings and wouldn't you know it one was 1.25mm narrower...so all good now.

I rode it home from the shop. nice sunny day...RUNS LIKE CRAP. AHAHAH

The build is done and the tuning begins. I have some burpin and popin going on. Found the ecellerator pump screw was backed right out so turned it in as well as the air mixture. Didn't seem to help. I did some testing on the highway and found it ran better with a little choke.

My headlight burned out and my throttle cable broke AGAIN so I put the stock one back on. Not for long though.

She corners like a dream compared to stock as you boys and girls know who have done the conversion.

My engine man told me she should pull hard to 10,000. You drag racers can comment on that. He is a drag racer too. He hopefully will be taking the Canadian record for fasted street legal bike.this summer. It's dyno'd at 400hp.

had to pull off the LED signals and put the stocks back on till I get a load equalizer to make them work.

Man, it sure is nice to be ridin the beast finally. Nicer when I sort out the fine tuning and can get into some serious RPMMMMMMM.

Oh yeah, still have the bandit arm to put on.

I still want to hear it bark :D

the list of mods s impressive- i ran 150s in my 1166 bike and it used all of the gas at wide open. They were just stock cvs though
I didnt read the whole thread. Sorry but i was pre occupied with a lot of legal junk and for me to miss this sort of thing is unusual.
The qestion i have is did you do anything to widen the rear wheel. That is a problem that i will face soon and need all the advice i can get. All i want is a wider tyre for the street- See i spelled tyre so you would know what I was talking about

Scotty,

I am running a gixxer rear 5.5 with a 180/55/17 tyre.

THANKS. i HAVE TO ALSO CONFER WITH jAKE on swing arm work. i forgot if he made his although i dont wnt anything that wide -just some fat tire like the newer crotch rockets have.
Did you have to mod the swing arm to adapt it.

That link appared on its own??????????

I'd do it like Rob did, using the oem swingarm with the size tire he is running. The reason I'm using the GSXR swingarm is my slick is 26 inches tall and about 7 inches across. The slick is flat and not rounded like street tires and would hit inside the oem swingarm. You may need to use a 5/8 offset sprocket too. Maybe Rob can repost his big tire thread.

Pic-napked this

1and 2 is where the tread part of the slick would hit the swingarm due to it being so wide. As for 3 thats where the top of the slick would touch the top of the frame by the shock post sence the rear is lowered.
