A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Had a few butterfingers moments lately. The headlight on/off switch cover (#20 on fiche) snapped after 30 years so I ordered a new one. Piece arrives, I drop the mounting screw in the garage and now it's gone forever. Ordered a new one from Partzilla, dropped this morning and lost forever - I should have ordered a few. I want to get this switch cover reattached before I lose it, ha.

What size/length do I need as I'm hoping this is this something I can just pickup at Lowes/Autozone ? Is there some way to decode the Suzuki numbers to normal screw sizes? Thanks in advance!

You should be able to get it. If I'm not mistaken that is a 3mm x 6mm screw 03068. The 8 on the end my simply be csk head.
You need to start hanging pillow cases from the bars :)

First, I would check to see if it fell onto/into the bike somewhere. At least make sure that it didnt fall in the sparkplug area (dont ask...). Probably unlikely but one never knows. When looking for small dropped items, I take a good flashlight, get at floor level and shine across the floor. The sideways shining light helps small items stand out better- for me anyway... If not take the part to the hardware store and try to match something up. Im sometimes shocked at how far dropped parts can bounce / roll.

Dude - thanks a bunch for cracking the code for me. The pillowcase is a wise idea, ha.

this is part of the reason why I have a 30lb pole magnet. it doesn't always find what I lost, but I usually recover it most of the time, unless the part isn't magnetic. pole magnets aren't very expensive, and it's seen more than it's share of explorations
