I have an old, K&G luggage rack that has seen better days... it has some areas where the chrome plate has flaked off, some areas are rusted, and some places actually look good.
Just to make it functional, I thought I might try to paint it black using spray bombs to improve its appearance. It's not worth getting re-chromed (I would think a new one would be cheaper).
I'm not trying to make this a showpiece, just want to "freshen" it up a bit.
The question is, how do I prep the good chrome areas? Will a good sanding to scuff up the chrome do it??
Any recomendations on the kind of primer/paint I should use?? I thought would just paint it black & with a clearcoat over top - simple spray bomb process.
TIA,
Mike
