A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Actually it looks like a LOT of GS carbs.

What is the inside diameter of the outlet of the carbs? :-k

.

Hi,

I don't think they are, but just in case, check out THIS THREAD in the gixxer.com forum (starting in post #10) about the Mikuni BST (Slingshot) carb series. It's a 'clean up and rebuild' how-to thread.

Thank you for your indulgence,

BassCliff

Plastic top and black slide. Looks identical to the 32mm CV's that were installed on the '83+ 700/750E/ES

You could delete GS from above - could be from a wide range of bikes.
Well, there are several bikes that use Mikuni CV-type carbs, but some have accelerator pumps and other stuff.
These look just right for a GS.
In fact, the "choke" mechanism says " '82 or newer", even though I don't see the channel on #2 carb that directs the cable to the mechanism.

inside diameter for carb outlet is 47.5mm
47.5 mm???

No, HERE is where to do the measuring:

The ID and the carb spacing will tell you what they fit

Geez, Rob, do you have that shed overflowing with motorcycle parts now?

Opps my bad.....that measurement would be 31.5mm. So that's the carb outlet  I've had these kicking around for a couple of years but they just sit there and they are BRAND NEW, not rebuilt brand new from the factory. They need to be used. I've hunted online with the carb ID numbers to no avail, I'm hoping the combined wisdom on here will come through. I tell you I've got to get rid of some things, I just phoned somebody about an 1980 GS250 they have, I'm still wanting to get the 400cc or smaller to go back and forth to work (way cheaper insurance). Turns out this person also has a 79 1000 they want gone!! Somebody give me $600 and convince my co-pilot I can have 2 more bikes!! The plan is to sell the 79 850 and my extra 78 1000 as soon as they are finished but that won't be for a couple of months. Oh what to do, what to do.
