I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.
Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

Returning Visitors
If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.
If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Chuck, when I come down there I'm going to teach you how to use a paint gun. might as well move on to the next stage and start you using 2K paints on your rebuilds.
you still have that gun I gave you?
Yup..I think I can master the gun no problems..its the mixing of the paint and hardners and reducers etc etc etc I need to learn. The technical aspects of mixing so to speak. Yes , the guns out in the box of spray paints and cleaners..I know right where its at.

Chuck, if you buy your paint at a reputable dealer the paint kit comes with recommended mixture instructions.
You can also buy a bunch of mix/measurement cups from the same dealer.
I always use fisheye preventer and a disposable inline moisture catcher(?).
An inline(at the base of the gun) pressure valve is also a good thing.
Its way easy!
todd..It probably is once youve had some instruction.Just like anyhting else its just something I havent done yet. Someday I will get an old tank and do some practicing.
Heres a tip for doing it in the frame..
remove the tank and coils so your creating some space between the frame and the engine Use the blue painters tape to mask off the seams where the covers meet the cases. Put old socks over all the turn signals. The all around the frame wrap it with aluminum foil. Use the foil around whatever else you can get it around..battery box, rear master cylinders, forks etc etc. Use old rags and tshirts and sheets to cover everything else like the wheels, instruments. Once you have everything masked off and the engine isolated then just paint it and let it sit overnight and unwrap it in the morning

for this example I will use a 4:1:1 ratio. 4:1:1 means 4 parts paint, one part hardener and one part reducer.
two commonly used methods are the mixing cup (shown on the left below) which is marked with different mixing ratios on it (i.e. 2:1 ~ 4:1). what you would do for a 4:1:1 paint/catalyst/reducer ratio using the mixing cup is to add the paint up to the first 2 line under 4:1:1, then add hardener to the #2 in the second column
1) to the right of the 4 column, then reducer to the 2 line in the third 1) column. you could start with the #3 or 4 if you required more mixed material, or #1 if you required less. the advantage to this method of mixing is ease of use.
a lesser used method today is to use a straight walled container with a scaled ruler to measure out the parts (shown on the right below). for example, using this method to mix 4:1:1, you would add paint up to the #4 line on one of the four scales (4 parts), hardener to the #5 line (1 part) and reducer to the #6 line (1 part). the advantage of this method is you don't have to keep buying new mixing cups at .50 ~1.00 dollar per cup.

I was hoping to come up this weekend but after being at ACL Music Fest all last weekend and a show to attend this Sunday I've got a long list of honey-do's to take care of Saturday... but I am hoping to at least change the oil on my beast!

Today I got all the plastics washed and treated with Mother Back To Black and hauled all the boxes of parts that i had already cleaned and painted out to the patio. Then the frame was brought out and I started reassembling the bike. I should have her all together by the end of the weekend..at least thats my plans,
Guess I should have rinsed the dust off the frame before i took the pics. Looks kinda tacky...sorry!!
Todays games included assembly of the rear wheel, install the inner fenders, install instruments, all the elctrical on the battery box, brake divider vallve, and cleaned and installed the handle bar goodies and switches. Also put on new throttle cables fresh from Suzuki.
