A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Throw out arm pic's

Hey CafeKid,

I'm all for listening to good info, heck at this point peeing on a spark plug was my next step:D

I was at a cookout this afternoon so i didn't have time to take pics and respond.

So, here are the pic's you requested.

One thing i did notice, The EBC springs i got from DK were about an inch longer than the stock springs i pulled out, could they have sent me the wrong springs ?

Tommy

an inch longer?? That seems a bit odd. I know that old sacked out springs will be SOME shorter than new, but that seems a bit much..dunno for sure though. One thing I would try first however is shifting that arm OUTBOARD a few splines...You'll have to let some cable adjustment out to do it, but it might be the problem. I have to admit that set up is slightly different from most of the other GSs, just in the way its put together, but USUALLY that arm is either in line with the clutch cover, or pointing out just a touch.. If you do that, when you pull the lever, the arm will pull the clutch out farther and SHOULD disengage..

Okay CafeKid,

I'll give that a try tomorrow and see how it does.

Thanks,

Tommy

Hey blowerbike,

I can do that, I've gotta pull it back down anyway.

I measured my stock springs last night and they were right at 36.5MM like the manual states they should be.

I'm starting to thing the fibers were the reason for the slippage and these EBC springs are just too much spring for this bike.

I'll take pic's of both with the ruler in the middle for reference.
