Crutchlow has made his move......(badly IMO)

Might be a good move for Cal...
Surely Stoner's not the only person in the world to successfully ride the Ducati Motogp bike? :-k

I agree, not a good move IMO:rolleyes:
On the other hand getting a factory bike from Yamaha was probably impossible but ...who knows how long Valentino will keep racing???

Yes, yes he is

Not a very good move, he's gotten on the podium with the Tech 3 Yamaha and finishes ahead of the Ducatis reguarly, the Ducati hasn't had a real podium in years

I hope he can make it work... sure the paycheck at Ducati is good & their umbrella girls are usually pretty special.. ;)

Maybe when he signed the contract, he was a bit distracted:

I stand corrected... there was also the Great Troy Bayliss!

??????????? he did NOTHING on the Ducati in Moto GP......
6th overall in the championship in 2003 (his first year), with 4 DNF's. 14th in his second year with 8 DNF's, then he got sacked!

he fell off his bike more than Crutchlow does.:-\\\

in 2006 he won on a Duke as a wild card, replacing Gibernau in Valencia

He's realised that as a Brit. his face doesn't fit the Euro marketing and he's not going to get a top bike....So gone to the money.

And who could blame him....

Nooooooo! I was so hoping that wouldn't happen, but you guys are right, probably the only way to get on a factory bike and in the money any time soon...

The only chance will be if Audi actually make some big changes in the racing division and get them to pull their heads out of their butts...

I've been following Crutchlow and am impressed with how he's going this year. I really want him to get his first win!

He did nothing on a Ducati in GP?

How many Wild cards have won a GP?

How many riders have won on a Ducati GP bike?

He also won 3 World Superbike Championships.

Check the full details of his career before you bag him out.

We punch above our weight down here in Oz and some people can't seem to accept it.

Anyway , back to the topic ..........

Crutchlow did what he had to do .
Yamaha will choke on their own vomit if he finishes in front of Rossi (that'd be funny) .

All the very best to him . Bags of talent and , if gets "up there" , he'll be the stuff of legend . Don't discount his team mate Dovi either . They'll both push each other pretty hard .

Could be another interesting year .

In the mean time , there's still 9 races to go this year .
My money is still on Marquez

Cheers , Simon .

his record is nothing really to get excited about!
How many Wild cards have won a GP?
not many, but the ones that did were genuine wild cards, not seasoned GP riders.
How many riders have won on a Ducati GP bike?
not many
He also won 3 World Superbike Championships.
we are talking Moto GP here, NOT WSBK
Check the full details of his career before you bag him out.
I did, that is where i got the info from i posted above!

I rest my case :)

I'm with ya' Simon, every chance Marquez will win his rookie year! He's already got pole again for the morning...

Marquez is in with a very good chance of the championship, unless Pedrosa or Lorenzo pull their fingers out and start getting some decent results.

i would say i think Marquez is lining himself up for another rookie mistake. he is taking to many chances. he lined up the overtake in Laguna, down the corkscrew and luckily he pulled it off. he has been seen lining up a last ditch overtake manouvre at the last turn before the finish straight at Indi, using the curbing as an advantage. yes it can work but as seen in the FP sessions it can go badly wrong.
he needs to learn to accept that he has to race cleanly for a win and not take stupid rookie "hero" chances, which could jeopardise himself or other riders, and he wont earn himself any brownie points if he takes out another rider(s) by trying such a heroic move.

not a fan of Marquez. but all hail Lorenzo. That Honda has yet to bite him HARD and lets see how he copes with that.

I really don't think Cal has anything to lose here. A factory Yamaha ride was out of the question for him, so where else was he going to go? Ducati has all that Audi money pouring in, and if they can learn to listen to their riders input they should be competitive. The bar is already set fairly low for Ducati. If Cal does anything at all on that bike he will be judged a success. I bet the fat paycheck doesn't hurt either.

My money is on Marquez for a championship this year. This kid is nothing short of amazing
