A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • This forum is for placing reviews for parts, accessories, gear and service as it relates to your GS motorcycle. The key here is "GS Related". There is a bit of latitude here but we don't want to see a review on Maytag washers just because that's what you use to clean your riding jacket in.

Keep your review as factual as possible and please refrain from personal attacks. Posted articles will be reviewed by the Editors and may be removed at their discretion.

So let's make this a useful addition to the forum! A special pat on the back goes to Hap Call for coming up with this great idea.

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Current state of Bikebandit

I think all of you have misjudged how seriously the Covid issue has affected online retailers

Parts haven't been coming from China and Japan for months. Manufacturers there were shut down earlier this year and shipping lines also
US warehouses are more or less bare
Online retailers have been closed, or remotely working. Their warehouses are bare

A local online motorcycle store has back orders over a month due to the above

I doubt the issues you are experiencing are limited to Bike Bandit. Especially since they're in CA

naw thats all a scam.......................wait no its actually an unoprecedented event and has shocked the entire suply chain worldwide.
But hey a pair of pants didnt arive so lets bash a vendor the employess of which are working under who knows what difficult conditions.

They charged my credit card for parts the day I ordered, that system works damn good still. I'm waiting for an RMA to return some parts and no idea when I'll get my proper stuff.

Bike bandit is a good name. Last time I shop with them.

Then they should not take orders if they cant fill them. We will find someone who does business differently.

Well it's been 6 weeks now and still no parts! Man these guys are working really hard to make sure I never buy from them again! Hell, I've sold the bike that the parts were going on!

I'm sure the new owner doesn't mind waiting!

Oh, and the new owner asked for a good source for Yamaha parts........guess who got mentioned "NOT" to buy from???

Hmmmm....I ordered some hood struts for the Abarth on 23rd, from China.
Got to Portland on the 27th, and they are out for delivery today.

I'm at 2 week so far . I'm willing to give them a few more days but the lack of email response is concerning. I need to return 80 dollars worth of parts, I might be stuck with for a while.
The credit card charges can be reversed. That might get noticed. I've bough onlijne from a lot of vendors and nothing like this has happened.

Well, I gotta give a shout out to Parts Outlaw. Ordered parts to rebuild my cam chain tensioner on May 25th and received them on June 5th, thats 9 working days! Including shipping time from Florida.

By comparison, I ordered a spacer and dust cover from Bike Bandit on April 23rd, and still NO PARTS! That's 31 working days ......and counting! NEVER AGAIN!

I like PartsOutlaw, they are very customer service oriented. The CSR (Customer Service Rep) would go out of their way to explain the order and ship time and the pieces in between that caused delays.

Consolidating items into one shipment was my situation. When I ordered, I put lots of items in my CART and not everything was located in one warehouse. Some of it had to come from Japan...like my ignition switch...I remember that distinctively.

I would recommend PartsOutlaw!

Well it's been 7 weeks and still no parts! But, I did get an automated email telling me that they have no friggin' idea when my parts will ship! Boy, that's customer no-service at it's best! NEVER AGAIN!

Man they must really want to remind me of their awful service! I just got another automated email telling me they have no idea when I will get my parts!

What a joke! NEVER AGAIN!

I received parts ordered on May 3rd, 4 weeks later.
Thing is, they shipped them a couple days after I sent an email canceling my order.
Tach cable and oil seals, they don't last long so I'll keep them on hand.

Well currently Parts Outlaw isn’t doing much better. 2 order that I placed during COVID were received within 2 weeks. My current order was placed 5/19. It will be 4 weeks come this Tuesday. Will call tomorrow.

I placed an order with Parts Outlaw last weekend for Charmayne’s bike and it will be here tomorrow

Got another automated email this morning informing me they have no idea when my order will ship. I guess they want to remind me "every day" why I will never buy from them again!

BTW,.......... I cancelled the order on their Farcebook page yesterday!

We're you able to recoup your money? Hopefully so...

As for PartsOutlaw...certain parts are not in US warehouses and must come from Japan. I waited more than 2 weeks for my ignition switch.

Haven't gotten a refund yet. Just checked their website and my order is still in the "not shipped yet" stage, so they haven't cancelled the order yet!

Hope it doesn't take 7 weeks to get my money back, but with them, I'm expecting to receive the parts and have to ship them back! NEVER AGAIN!

Tried to call Deland (Partsoutlaw) twice today About 8am and 9am. Went right voicemail both times. Left a message. Didn’t get a call back. :(

Partsoutlaw has started sending me promotional emails every week. It feels like they're torturing me with the fact that I can't ride anymore.
