Hi and thanks ahead of time for reading my post.
I have an 82' GS450TZ that I upgraded the jugs/pistons to 500 about 2 years ago. In that upgrade, I forgot to de-glaze the cylinders and installed new rings. On completion the compression was within specs on both sides.
Lately, I've noticed the engine doesn't have the same power (slightly) and the compression is lower on the right side. In planning a winter time project, I've contemplated pulling the top end to do the job right and wanted to get some opinions.
Some choices I'm figuring:
1. Deglaze & new rings to current pistons
2. Hone & new rings to current pistons
3. Bore to 5 or 10 over and new rings to new pistons.
Any other choices?
So, what does everyone think?
