Ii finally found some mtc pistons for gs 1000 2 valve motor they are 71mm = 1025 ? ,The question is will a gs 1100 cylinder 2 valve fit gs 1000 cases if cases are bored . am trying to get 1085 . they had a set of 74mm pistons but i believe i would have to have liners installed? thanks for any input. i have split the cases gone thru trans sent to R&d motor sports had gear set under cut for better engagement. also had crank welded up.any thoughts ?

1085 = 73mm which are 3mm over pistons - available on Ebay. Cruising Image is who I've been talking to as I am looking to build the same thing or find a good set of 1100 jugs, head and pistons from a used scoot... Good luck with this. Look for a G model.

so i tried a supposed gs1100 cylinder, from a 2 valve motor and its not a bolt on deal any input from anyone out there

Does any one have a gs 1100 g cylinder , I bought a 82-84 gk cylinder and it doesn't bolt on it

I wouldn't think that there are any engine differences between a G and a GK. They're both 2 valve and shaft driven, an enlargement of the older GS1000 motor. A completely separate design from the GS1100E, aka GSX1100.

Can a few of you guys corroborate this?

If you bought a g/k cylinder as you say, you already have a g cylinder ?!?!?!
82-84 GS1100 G should be an 8V engine - A 16V cylinder will not fit.
You state it will not bolt on... WHY?

As with the GS750/850 cylinder swap, the holes in the cases have to be massaged to allow them to fit.

Also, you can take the 1000 cylinder out 4mm without any issues as far as I know. This is my plan if I cannot find an 8V GS1100 top end.
My 77 GS750 8V was bored out 4mm

Up date the cylinder was actually an e ,was able to return and found a g model that fits perfect now will send out to be bored to 74mm piston mtc piston kit . was told its dangerous to take stock 1000 cylinder to 74 mm .
my good friend has been building motors for years we opted for an e cylinder . he builds alot of gs 1100 , 1150 drag motors 1300cc up . anyways thanks for the info . will keep yawl posted .
