I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

ok i already have to make the carbs from the 77 fit the 81? ebgine but i was wondering if anyone knew weather the bigbore kit from the 77 engine would fit also...im pretty sure its just pistons and cylinders but i dont want to tear either of them down till i know for sure if it will fit. i also want to swap the kicker setup to the newer engine if possible i really like the kick start 77 engine but it wont fit the only titled frame i have ( i have three frames lol) and my one bedroom doesnt allow for TOO much fabricating...work might tho.. any help is appreciated

The 77 and 81 750 are COMPLETELY different engines. No interchangeable parts.

The 77 carbs WONT fit the 81 motor. They are a completely different size, design and jetting. You're gonna be in for nothing but headaches if you continue down that path. Also, the 77 motor WONT fit in your 81 frame. The lack of the kicker in 81 allowed them to shorten up the basket. You might could get it to fit, but it would require some decent fab work...which you;ve already ruled out in your bedroom there.. No the 77 bore kit wont fit your 81 motor. The 77-79 750 motors were an 8 valve head, the 80-82 were a 16 valve head, compeletely different designs. About the ONLY part that will change over are the oil pump gears, and maybe some nuts and bolts...the rest....Dunno what to tell ya man. Sorry if this is a downer. BUT, the 77-79 bikes were KILLER in my opinion. Some of the best GSs ever made, and certainly the most durable. I have lots of parts for em, tho im starting to get thin, but if ya need something, give me a shout, I will try to help out the best I can....

the 80-82 motors....crap. Worst GS motors ever. But thats just my opinion....

how about a titled frame for a 77 lol, i managed to fit the engine in the 80 frame and realised it was gonna be more hassle than it was worth...the only reason im using that frame is because its the only titled one i have ( of three) and a coworker had an 81 he couldnt get a title for so i bought all his stuff to make one bike so i have pretty much a complete 77 thats in pieces right now too... the bike i bought originally is a 77 gs750(?) and the one i bought from my coworker was a gs1000 with a 750 engine in it, both were sitting and were bought through anothere coworker....so long story short...ish i now basically have two bikes... and i can make the carbs work thats not the issue the issue was the big bore in the older engine, thanks for the help tho guys its appreciated.

Why not just buy some fixer upper with a title?
They are all over the place, cheap right now.

i bought a titled frame for $20...and the other two bikes ( both from the same guy but a coworker bout it first and i from him) for less than $500...i havnt seen any titled for less than that yet..no gs's anyway
