    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Diagram of vaccum lines on carbs

Hey all,

Looking for a diagram of how the vacuum lines on an '85 GS1150 ES carbs (California Version) hook up. The Clymer book doesn't show where they go and all the parts diagrams I have found only show them up to the tee, not where it goes from there. I also got to find a new tee as I broke one of the fittings off of it and it is a discontinued part..

There is only 1 vacuum line, the smallest line, it goes to the petcock. there is 1 fuel line, it also goes to the petcock. The other two are vent lines, they come up and over the air box and just end there, under the seat one on each side of the air box. Not critical where they end, as long as they aren't stopped up.

Don't think we are thinking of the same setup. I have the fuel line no problem. Got the vaccum line to the petcock, no problem. Got two vent lines just above the fuel bowls, but there are four other lines that come off of each carb to this five port tee, four side ones and one top one that has a metal clip like the ones that hold cables in place around the top port. There are two (what I assume are charcoal canasters), one under the tank and one under the seat. Thanks for the info though.

The canisters are california emissions control regulations for motorcycles.Check with your local dealer on this issue to find out what mods were done for your state and where those line go .
 
Thanks for all the info. I got a diagram from Bruce and got it all hooked up. Started her yesterday and she sounds wicked!! Problem one solved. Now I got an oil leak on the left side cover to fix and exhaust header to clean up and paint. But that is all part of the fun I guess.. Look for future questions from this newbie.... Thanks again..
