A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Following the advice of a fellow member I got a Ding King to remove a dent created by the PO by dropping the bike in his garage.

For the smaller dents after the main dent has been pulled out.

No more dents but in need of a new tank emblem. Not bad for $23 + $7 to replace the POS glue gun that came with the kit that did not work8-)

I have one of those emblems pretty good condition $5 shipped to you

"Not bad for $23 + $7 to replace the POS glue gun that came with the kit that did not work"

This summer a freak windstorm caused a *huge* branch to come down on my GS450L... Made a dent right on the right "corner" of the tank (just above the gold stripe). Even tho it was sort of on a corner & had slight creasing, multiple uses of a Dent King (10-15 pulls?) made the dent a lot less noticable. Certianly not gone, but prob reduced the depth & diameter of the dent by at least half. Took off a bit of the stripe & used a dab of paint to fix that.

POS glue gun - Yep, right when I plugged mine in it made a big spark inside & was toast.... I opened it up, resoldered the wires & used heat-shrink tubing & then it worked fine. Got the DK set for like $15 delivered from some amazon_seller.

Great that it worked so well for you...

Great post. I've got a few dents in my gas tank I would love to practice on. What kind of glue did you use? I've got to try that.

Mark, the kit came with three glue sticks. When cool they were similar to a hardened rubber. I don't think I'd use the glue sticks that came with the new glue gun, they seemed too hard to work?

I've been working on this one on the GSaSAWKI. Started by gently pushing it out from the inside using a set of those goofy stock handlebars that have a pretty good angle on them.

not the best picture of the 1st stage of the repair, but the dent is almost half out. I am wondering if anyone has suggestions about the cracks in the paint job.

Something I can spray on there to keep it from getting worse? Obviously would like to keep the original paint job, don't care if it looks 100%

This thing was 2 years old. are you still in Ding removing business bill?

I'm actually thinking about getting one to try on the Yoshi can that was on that junk RF900 I bought. The finish on it is good, but it has a couple dings on the underside. Might be worth $30 to see if it will turn it from a hunk of scrap into $100 or so.
