DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Do I have to do anything to the carbs if I switch to pod filters?

I just got ahold of some pod filters to replace my airbox. What do I have to do with my carbs in order to add the pods to it?

You have to rejet. This subject is well documented in the archives, just waiting for you to explore using the search feature.

Have you kept the original airbox? If you have I would put that back on and use those Emgos as pen holders on your desk. It'll run much better that way.

You need a DynoJet stage three kit.

Don't bother trying to use or do anything else.

Why do want to switch to pods? The performance gain is minimal even coupled with an aftermarket header. Without a decent knowledge of how the bike is supposed to run stock, plus some knowledge about how to tune carburetors, you're setting yourself up for a headache.

Btw if you use those filters an DON'T rejet, the bike will run horribly, fall on it's face all over the rev range, if it runs at all, and you're likely to burn up the valves...so don't take what you're being told with a grain of salt. ;)

EMGOs!!!?? I wouldn't use those to filter urine. Don't use those. Ever. They're garbage, which is why they're so darn cheap. Ooooh look at those shiny meshy screen filters...those look bitchen...I bet they'll make my bike go fast...hey, why does my bike run like crap???

Seriously, send em back and get your money back. If you want pod filters, spend the dough and buy K&N, or their APE counterparts. Worth the money, and they actually do what theyre supposed to do...

Wow. Ok I guess I won't use them. I bought a parts bike and it came with those

That's a good choice...

how about telling us more about yourself and your bike. You may find a neighbour who is a member here willing to help out.

Where abouts in this big world are you, and what flavour of G are you working on?

You can add that information in Edit Details and also Edit Signature. You can even upload a nice image of your bike as an avatar. You'll find all of that at the top of the page in your User CP, and it should be applied to all future and previous posts.

I'm located in Nashville. Attempting to turn a gk into a naked tracker/cafe.

I guess the question I need to ask is what type of pods can I use that do not require rejetting. I hate that airbox

I don't like the airbox because of its bulk and appearance. I really like the idea of a "bare" bike and have as little plastic on it that I need.

But with that said, I think I will just keep the airbox on this bike until I have some more experience with carb rebuild and all that.

Because of exhaust backfire, I'm thinking I need to replace some boots and o-rings, along with the air filter.

Does anyone recommend any type of filters? or just the OEM

Pretty sure that those pods will be very difficult to install as you need 54mm. ;)
Order main jets 1 and 2 sizes larger and see which work best on your bike.

Daniel
