does anyone know of a fairing like this one that will fit an 82 gs1100e?

Curious if anyone has experience finding and installing this style fairing on a gs1100e? Would like to see if it adequately covers the gauges etc.

I dont know it it will work, but I did find one that says it will work with an 8" headlight although it is too expensive for me ar $129.

I?ve got a similar one but the opening is 7 inch by emgo. Might check with them to see if they have an 8 inch version.

If $129 for a windshield is "too expensive", you will be limiting your search to used, leftover junk on eBay.

.

if i knew it would cover the gauges and look ok then i may go for it...129 is too much for a gamble... and i think the train light may be closer to 9"

I got this off eBay several years ago. It was listed as fitting a Ducati Monster. Maybe that will help your search.

EDIT: I just did a quick eBay search and google image search, and didn't find anything like what I have. I didn't spend much time looking, though, so you still may find it.

Thank you, that is really close but not exactly what i was looking for. i like the surround look of the headlight in the one i posted

Thanks Bob, That looks damn good, and I like the curved out lip on top. I am going to try and locate one of those.

Apparently this was a timely thread. I was planning on making my own flyscreen for my 1100E next summer (was supposed to be this summer, but life got in the way...) but this is pretty close to what I was hoping to end up with and I could save myself the trouble of learning to make my own. Do you have any side shots that show its profile? And maybe the mounting hardware details?

Thanks,
Mark

That's about the best I have on hand. If you need something else, let me know, and I will take some more pics.

Love the arty rain shot of your beautiful bike, Bob T.. Is that the stock Suzuki color? I want to repaint mine and I am having issues getting the spec. I am interested in the fly screen you have as well. I want to clean up the mess behind my gauges and above the light. Thanks for posting the detail shots.
Cheers, Zweihammer

Zweihammer....Almost nothing on that bike is original. It was pieced together by someone out of 82 and 83 parts years ago, on a 82 frame.
I picked it up for $500 off eBay back in 2006 or 07. Since then I've replaced everything that was 82, including the frame, to 83, except the gauges.

She's a good bike...just don't look too close.

if you find a link to one like his please post it. i looked for 2 hours today with no luck. i may have been searching in vain looking for one with a curved lip on the top...like bobs first pic shows... but now realize the lip may have just been an optical illusion.

No, it's there...it is just subtle...

Along the lines of the one on the bike of Baatfam have a look at the F16 Sport and Touring from National Cycle.
I had the Sport model and was happy with it. Certainly not a full protection but did alleviate a surprising amount of wind buffeting. Keep in mind i was using lower Superbike rise handlebars.

No, that's good, it explains everything close enough. That is a really good match to the 1100E overall, hopefully I can find something similar on fleabay these days.

Thanks for the pics,
Mark
